not that i really care, but if the axle is the only thing moving and it can pivot where it meets the axle.....why would it bind? unless the 4link bars are 6" long or something.



because the axle moves in an arc throughout its range of motion as the suspension compresses and extends. if the upper part of the cylinder casing is simply sitting in a donut, flat plate, or tubing that is fixed to the chassis, then as the suspension travels, the bottom of the cylinder is being pushed away from its center and this is what bends the shaft slightly. Its one of the reasons cylinders tend to leak. Make an upper mount that pivots like the lower mount does and the problem goes away because the cylinder can then move with the arc of the axle or control arm its pushing against.
