no tubs for 205/40/17 and a bodydrop. With brand new tires you may rub the firewall slightly, but you can give it a gendtle massage with a rubber mallet in the area (it will just be rubbing on the upper corner of the wheelarch) and no reshaping is needed.

To answer the question on how far you can go down and keep a stock hood. I'll throw in a few pics and let the doors and the stock hood speak for itself. And yes, the motor is in there for any smartass comments, look closely.

wayne i have a curious question (not a smartass one),
did you drop the motor at all?

section the oil pan?

what kind of fuel system is being used ,fuel injection or carb?

reason why i'm asking is that i am nowhere close to the doors and my weber air cleaner used to touch the hood(when i had a stock motor).

Thanks for the props guys.

To answer the questions, roknmotor, I'm not exactly sure how far it is body dropped since its stock floored and then I cut the floor out to go down farther. I'd say in the ballpark of 5.5", that's about how far my frame horns are down at the moment. I know the cab is sitting about 1/4 - 1/2" into the doors at the moment.

Rudy, the motor mounts on the frame are dropped 2" and then I made new mounts that bolt to the motor that are 1/2" lower. 2.5" drop total. I only went down as far as I had to get the valve cover under the hood. The motor right now has the factory carb on it and the outside carb stubs are a cunt hair away from the hood. I haven't decided if I'm going to try to cram a weber and a custom air cleaner under there or talk RUSS into helping me make a sidedraft fuel injection setup. The oil pan is getting sectioned 1/2" to be safe. I could probably get away with not, but I drag the piss out of everything I have, so I want to be able to put a sturdy 4wd style skidplate underneath it all.

Not a problem at all Rudy. Keep em coming if you've got more.

BTW, did you gain more clearance to fit a bag with the tubular control arms? And what is your steering situation when you are hammered?
