thats why it's important to never let them know you're a mini trucker.

you should have left all that dirt off the post, and went with, "I would some info on building/buying a flat head"

Then you wouldn't have gotten flamed.

But, for your sake, i hope it wasn't jalopyjournal...

jalopy has been cool to me. but yea, you gotta watch you say to that crowd. they're very proud and very anti anything import. watch out for hotrodders.com, too. unlike most of use they cant seem to appreciate anything outside their scene.

Ever heard the sayin ask dumb questions get dumb answers! I think this goes hand in hand. Don't agree with his response to your question but rednecks dont analyze anything further than Bar Dar WHat nOt , Damn Ol Mini Truck, Bar Dar Puttn one of dem dar Motty Blocks, HAR HAR, Bi@ch get me another BEER! But not all of use hot rod people think that way. Go to HonostCharlies.com, they have anything you can want for a flathead. Or contact Jimmy Shine of So Cal Customs. Good luck with your project, Id like to see it happen!

Some of those guys are very closed minded. I been minitruckin for bout 16 years. I been around old cars all my life. I've owned a ton of em. Hell my first car at 16 was a 57 chevy. I have 2 minitrucks and three old cars now. I like anything dealing with vehicles. I think its a killer idea. I have a freind with a 91 ranger and has flat head is already in it.
You just gotta watch what you say around some of those guys. Personally i think your post was worded a lil wrong but not to tha point that he would be "insulted" but thats how some of em are. ESP tha guys in tha "street rod" genre. Some of those guys give no repect to anything out side of street rodding. even if you have a classic '50s car or a muscle car. If you dont have a 30 something street rod then your no 1 to them.

i kinda agree to some degree... flatheads are kinda rare, and in that respect, i'd rather see it in an original vehicle than a mazda. But fuck it, better to use it than leaving the metal to rust/rot away to nothing!

The flathead isn't horribly rare, but I can understand the point he made,

they're horribly underpowered for their weight/size...

but anyway, i would just go join a hot rod forum as yourself, don't mention the make/model, and try to get just general flathead info.

or my favorite, www.google.com
