I am with you brother. I guess when the common sense is gone, trailer balls take it's place! Now, instead of thinking about how cool it is when I see another truck drag, now I have to run away to protect my wife and kids from flying trailer balls! Hell, why don't we just start bolting household items to the frame. I'm sure a toaster oven will spark!

Dragging is the new hopping. Just because you can, dose'nt mean you have to. It was alot cooler when only the chosen few could do it. And without bolting crap on their trucks. Now you got mom's in mini-vans dragging their shit while taking the little booger eaters to soccer practice. Its more important to me that the truck be clean and well built. A rooster tail of sparks might be cool to see, but its usually coming from the back of a primered truck with no bed.
*(Not talking smack on primer, trucks with-out beds, sparks, booger eaters or midgets, just sayin.)

I usually dont throw my 2cents into this arguement but the yota guys will be less childish than the s10 boys so here goes.

Im a fan of balls or blocks... some type of removable metal for dragging. Im mainly a fan of this cause you can drag when you want but still lay out for the show the next day. Easily replaceable and they do not break off. Ive seen 2 trailer balls come off a truck on the internet and both times the shank was still attatched, it was the nut coming off or the welds on the bracket breaking off. Its people that premanently attatch them that make the rest of us look bad. Only time you should see them is "at night" Even when i eventually put blocks on my truck they will be a maximum 2'' tall so the truck is still low and you dont see a huge rod hanging down like usual.

Another reason im a fan of this is because unlike most people i give a rats ass about my truck and dont have a "drag and destroy" mentality towards it. My truck didnt take a couple weekends and $2000 at SD to build. Its been 2 years building my truck and its not worth it to tear it all apart just for somone elses pleasure. Also include in the fact my frame is my airtank and eventually will be powdercoated and you can bet you wont see me dragging it anytime soon. Ive also had a couple trucks come in that needed the bottomside rails replaced and theyve told me to install a set of block mounts while i was at it. All you have to do is replace your rails once and you wont want to drag frame so much again.

Last time i talked about this on s10forum a kid called me a pussy and i wasnt a true minitrucker, i merely told him not to be angry the underside of my frame was already nicer than the topside of his entire truck, sometimes the truth hurts.
