i just read a thread on s10forum.. thank god the people here don't do this. over half of the guys that posted on the forum believe it's a better idea to drag these than the frame.. what's wrong with people these days??

Note 2 self. . . Dont drag your balls! Maybe Im missing the purpose. Hell for that matter, I think Ill just tie something to my truck and drag it down the road. . . Hmm maybe some s10 parts ( evil grin and smirk ) Anyways, like its been said before. Different strokes for different folks. BUY/Build some blocks, Save the Balls!

Ok, so HI, my name is Kevin, and I have installed a set of ball drag brackets on an s10 before. Please don't revoke my man card. Also, I was paid to do it...

for effing real. my ranger has a drag bar with trailer balls on it.

there is nothing wrong with this, and it is better than frame when done correctly. I would rather tear up $50 in trailer balls, than the main support that holds my entire truck together.....

its the people who use cheap trailer balls, or the thin ones, or hell if they dont tighten them down, that gives draggin balls a bad name.

nothing wrong with it?? what happens if one breaks? and if you don't want to drag your frame, don't drag. i don't see how it's safer than frame. explain it to me, pleaseeeee.

I would hate to see one break off and land in someones windsheild! One good hole in the pavement and it's history.

they wont break off if (LIKE I SAID) you dont cheap out and buy harbor frieght balls, or get ones that are too skinny.

if you get a trailer ball with a 2inch or more stalk, and tighten it down on a secure bracket, IT WONT FALL OFF.

many shops around here install them and i have been dragging for a few years now, never had one fall off, and I've only seen 1 fall off, it was a cheap 1 inch ball, and it fell off on a back road, no cars.

i just want to know how it's safer than draggin' frame.. it doesn't matter if the neck is 3" and thr ball is 4" in diameter.. it caqn snap off.. run over a good pothole.. let me know how it turns out.

Is the ball just mounted upside down or is it mounted at an angle? I've never heard of such a thing, but common sense still tells me that angled blocks are safer. Tell you what, get out on the road, get up to speed, and throw a boat anchor (chained to your frame) out around a telephone pole, and tell me what happens to your frame. I think some redneck lowered his truck and the only thing he could do was flip the hitch on the back to get it to touch the ground and he thaught it was cool so then some more rednecks started bolting them to the bottom of their trucks.lol

yes it can snap off, but if you hit a pothole with your frame, its going to screw it up anyway.

how about this, drag your truck till the frame can no longer support it, then air it up, and watch you truck bend in half, then try to drive home.

or drag thru the supports for your 4 link, and watch your axle catch your bed and come to a complete hault and your truck go spinning out of control.

if you drag on people, your retarded anyways, but if a ball flies off (which again, I have only seen once), what are the odds it is going to hit someone square in the windshield??? chances are its gunna go bouncing down the road, or off to the side.

not to mention i would rather have a 6 ounce ball flying thru the air, than to have a 2 ton truck slide across 4 lanes of traffic...

This is a stupid arguement and I have been doing this long enough to know that there is no way to convince you, you are wrong. So go join the people who think you can't lay frame on airshocks, you can't put bags on round bars, and you can't build a truck on a 110 welder, cause i have done them all.

sorry if this comes off as abrasive, i mean no disrespect in any way shape or form, i just get tired of people freaking out about stuff they have never witnessed or heard of happening. Could it happen: Yes, likely???? probably not.
