Im not sure if this is funny but it was really dumb... In summer of '01 I was workin on my '93 B22K gettin it ready for a cruise night, cleaning the carb out using carb cleaner. Well I sprayed the cleaner down the carb then set the can on the core support and asked my bud to start it.... my motor mounts were f*cked so when it started it shook bad. The can fell over on the battery leads and boom , blew me back a few feet. I got up (not realizing my injuries) and grabbed the water hose that a guy brought to me to put me out, I put out the fire on my DAWG and after the fire was out I finally saw the extent of my injuries, went into shock and everything is kind of a blur after that. After a week of ICU, 3 months in the hospital, and 4 more months of home care and physical therapy, I walked away with 1st 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 45% of my body and 3 skin graft surgaries. the dumbest thing from all of this was if I had put those little plastic covers of the terminals of my Optima, the juice from that battery plus the other 2 Optima's in the bed would have never reached the can. The dawg lived on until Feb of '02 when it was totaled thanx to a dick running a stop sign w/ no insurance. Thanx for reading.

damn man that sounds really bad. ive heard about batteries blowing up but have never seen it happen. i myself have a story sorta like that. i was young and stupid and decided to make a bomb. the bomb blew up in my face and i had 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over my face. had to take it easy for a few weeks and was lucky enough to not have very much visible scarring. most people never know it happened unless i tell them.

Ok I will get in on this....
Back in the day, me and a freind were relocating my gas tank cause I ended up draging it so thin it was seeping gas. So we fixed the tank and then proceeded to go to the store and buy some hoses and fittings for the relocate. Well as with everything when working on one's truck it took alot longer than expected and I was supposed to be at work. I had called in to let them know I was gonna be late so it wasn't tooo bad but I wanted to get it done. Just as we are finishing mounting the tank in the bed it starts to rain. So here we are in the rain reconnecting all of the fuel lines. We had tagged everything when we took it apart so all I had to do was connect everything back to the proper color coordinated tags on the hoses. So I get it all hooked up, she starts, and off to work I go. I get to work pull in the parking lot, lay it out and run inside. A few minutes later one of my co-workers runs in and tells me my dawg is puking gas from somewhere out of the engine bay. I run out and sure enough a bunch of gas is running down the hill from what appears to be the front passenger's side corner. Turns out I had accidentally got the return line switched with one of the charcoal canister lines and everytime I drove the dawg after shutting it off about one or 2 gallons of gas would come puking out of the charcoal canister.

Just swapped the new motor in my first crx, everything went smooth. Started it up and it had a NASTY idle. Ran like poop to. Decided to take it down the street and back. Came back and my wife was yelling FIRE! The cat had got so hot it was burning insulation. Couldn't figure it out, even after everyone on my forum was telling me check firing order. Towed it to a local shop and paid $85 to find it was the firing order... I had it so it fired 1-2-3-4. The plug wires didn't fit right either and I was too tired to catch it!

We were all in auto tech at my school right.
My buddy has a 1962 ford fairlaine nice car all original. and we were ajusting the valves so, we had just finished putting the the valve cover on it. He crunk it up next thing i know i hear a ping a a whisling threw the air and then a POP. we had leaft the wrench on the pully and it had slug off missing the hood and finder but hitting my buddy square in the funny bone.

Well Lets say that the my teacher wasnt all that happy because it came so close to puting a good dent in the principles car that was sitting be side it.
