Getting burned out on the whole minitruck scene

Okay i am starting to get tired of the whole mini truck scene or lack of one. I am starting to think its time for me to move on to a diffrent scene. I have always loved 50's ford f100's and there seems to be a lot more shows and a bigger scene in the Hot rod world. I have been to a few minitruck shows and it just seems like it a kids (under 30) world now and i am starting to feel old rolling around in my truck anybody else feel this way? I think its the lack of shows and clubs and besides MazdaBscene i dont even talk to anybody thats still into minis. I love my trucks and i love to hang with like minded folks and dont get me wrong i have met a few guys on here who are great I am just starting to feel out of place in the mini truck world. i know what ya mean about the shows cause every show around here its mostly younger guys that mommy and daddy pay for every thing and that act stupid and ruin all the good shows

got to remember a few things,guys.This will always be a "'scene" with a steadily diminishing audience.The REPUs are now 35 years old and the newest Old Bseries is 15 years old.There are less and less of them and fewer and fewer people who know them for what they are-the best small pickup ever built.without fresh talent and fresh ideas and a supply of "raw material"the sport/hobby will peter away to a few old farts like me,etc.I feel ur pain,but now is the time to decide whether this a hobby or a calling.Its a calling for me,but everybody else will have to decide if its for them or not.Hang in there.Lol.BJ

i dunno but iam 15 and i actually pay for all my stuff ... most kids wont but i get out there and work hard for all my stuff and i think us kids should ... i wasnt into minis at all until i got to this site .. but as well i love others like bugs .. manly trucks and bugs but yea .....

It's been my "calling" since the early 80's for me. I think my biggest issue is losing my best friend and Mini trucker buddy has finally caught up with me after 8 years of him being gone. Just trying to stay motivated to turn the wrenchs and keep doing something that gave me and my buddy so much happiness back in the day.

CL man i know what you dealing with. There's shit for minis in eugene anyway. when i bagged my truck there was less than a handful of bagged trucks around that i knew of. that was in late 2002-early 2003. i lived in springfield. now one guy i knew of sold his mini for a family ride and there's perhaps 2 or 3 others that i know of even now. its sad. i had a friend that was trying to get a 'south valley' club started (south willamette) but i guess some shit happened with that. who knows. keep on pushin on thru tho. one day i hope to move back up there somewhere and we'll have to knock back a beer or soda or something. my family still lives there and so does my wife's so we'll eventually make it back up.

Hmmm touchy subject. I say... It depends on what your definition of a scene? If you sell the dawg and get an ol ford... I am pretty damn sure we will all still talk to you and want to hang out at a show, bbq, carnival, grocery store, or wherever. So I say do what makes you happy. I know 0 mini truckers down here personally. I have met a few but do not hang out with them. For that matter I only knew a few ppl back in MO as well. But for me I just love my trucks so that is what I will continue to try and build. You make the call and do what makes you smile and keeps you motivated. We will still like you in the end.




Unless you become a douche bag ricer!! Not a tuner for those of you that do like the little import cars. Tuners have a clue and can make some pretty sick cars with kick ass horsepower.

there is a house down the street from me that is for sale man, trust me you won't get burned out down here! the only thing i get burned out on is my wifes bitching about me and the only thing other than sex that gives me pleasure, my truck. hahaha.
