Emissions testing BS!

whoa....lol...that was a bit to read, but all good points and interesting.

I took the truck to an exhaust shop to just get a quote on installing a complete OEM exhaust and it came to $1250 and I just laughed at them.

I'm just going to rig up something with my Magnaflow cat,the cherry bomb and some pipe, and like you said, new plugs and play with the carb. I'm ot really in a rush to get the truck on the road or anything since it's the middle of winter, but I atleast want it registered so I can drive it between my house,Lance's and my storage area so I can work on it.

About 2 years ago,the province installed about 30 huge wind generators about 5 mins away from my house. I live in a relatively open, windy area and the turbines are scattered all over farmer's fields on the outskirts of town.

i have a friend with a MINT 87 b2000. i didn't even test my truck cuz i dont have a cat and i know it wont pass. so i just switched the little vin plates with him and my lisence plates. then we just super glued them vin plates back and and you cant tell the difference

sorry bout the long post c/m......it is interesting & in the grand scheme of things, will be something that will greatly affect all of us in the not so distant future....

on another note, for $1250, I'll build you an exhaust & deliver it to ya lol haha! find someone with a welder & take some stock pipe & make you an exhaust, shucks if you don't have any of the old exhaust left layin around, you could probably cut some off of a truck or car at a junk yard & make something work...

the wind turbines are becoming a big thing, the technology has gotten good enought to make them more efficient & practical than they were when they first came out.....

eff'd, i wouldn't spread that around too much, you & your bud could get a big ole fine for tampering with the vins.

Heeey, Mikey, check this, I just jumped to the back of this thread, but if it has'nt been said, buy like 2-3 or 4 hell, I dunno, more than one bottle of HEET and put it in your tank! With all that and your tank only about 1/4 full, it should pass with flying colors!

not with No cat it won't! lol

I cut the exhaust off the 2600 today. Has a perfect Magnaflow cat on it and a perfect stock muffler. Some of the piping is useless, but I can just get some sections of pipe. All I need to do is cut it all up and rig it together. Won't cost much, but with my layoff right now I don't have the money to throw around.

My main problem is that my 10 day permit runs out on Saturday,so I can't drive it unless I put Kermit's plates on it to make it look legal.

Jeez, its just one after another... If you rig your exhaust together, be sure to make sure you do not have any exhaust leaks or it will cost you another trip and fix!

I would still suggest putting some in the tank before you go. And go on a good highway drive before you go and make sure to shake the truck so it shakes the tank mixing the heet in...

Maybe because you guys arent part of the mainlaind and your population is smaller and you're not quite as dense as the metro vancouver area. I dunno...

I rigged up an exhaust today. I bought a section of pipe from Napa with a bunch of bends on it and I installed my cat behind my cherry bomb and then rigged up some bends to go up and over the axle and it just exits right over and just behind the axle,so those e-test bastards are going to be cursing and swearing because they have to crawl under there to probe it,but screw em. It's past the axle,so it's legal.

It's like the most super ghetto exhaust ever, but it's all welded up and a lot quieter now. Just need some new plugs, schedule and e-test and see what happens I guess.
