Hmm...okay, listen, lol. You said bare metal...
It takes o2, H20 and Fe to make rust. Rust is Iron Oxide, which is Oxidized metal because of the elements. If you take out one of these elements, you prevent rust!
Now, do you think if your header is under your hood and it also being bare metal going to keep it from these 3 elements? I think not! lol...
I'm positive that it is rust! It may not be a heavy or deep rust. But I can safely say I bet its flash, or surface rust!
does anyone make headers for an auto? ive been looking for headers and they say that they are for standards? i can see that the auto tranny is goin to take up so much room u cant put headers on.
I have'nt header anything about a header for an auto tranny, yet...
EH!? So what do you guys think??
Sorry its all blurry and all, I did'nt see my buddy come into the pic. I would have taken another but my teacher was yellin' at me to get his core supports sand blasted!
I sandblasted this today and then had a buddy spray them with high temp 1200 degree paint! It said it also had some ceramic in it, but hey, it looks damn good though, right?
-Sand blasting it was a quick process, did not pit it at all, just keep the nozzle moving!
looks good....way better than the pacesetter flake black.
LOL! You noticed their paint had a flake in it too, huh? I thought I was'nt seeing it right.
So this morning, all the kiddies are looking at it, and they're like, "Cool!"
Had a couple people tell me they were 100% sure its going to come off! I told them to blow off...
We'll see...
why didn't you remove the "pacesetter" tag welded to the tube?
lookin good man! when you gona putem on?
LOL! It was tack welded into place! I did'nt even think about it either... Oh well! I don't care anyways, lol.
TOMORROW! I'm getting my exhaust redone! WOOO! I'll post pics of the exhaust as best as I can!
...I'm a little depressed.
sigh, I think I'm gonna go to schucks and give a new hole to poop out of!
You can't really see it, but its just the exhaust line with my converter on it.
Flowmaster 40! Original... It dumps right after the cab! It sounds pretty nice when you get to 3-5k rpm! It reminds me of the sound of a big coffe can exhaust for the tuner cars! I don't have a coffe can on mine though! It definitely has a resonance and you know its there the whole time. At idle, you can feel a resonance.
Heck, someone might think I have something else than a 4 cyl., LOL!
I paid $60 for my exhaust guy to install it all... Hes the man! It would have been $100 originally, but he bought both of my cat converters... Then he decided he would still let me slide another $10!
So, all in all, my exhaust cost me about $350! NICE!
My phone did'nt pick up the sound of my exhaust, even when I had it right at the MUFFLER! So I don't think I can get a sound clip! Try flowmasters site though, it'll give you an idea...
Now, what to do about that damn header...
