Breaking down the main drive assembly, definitely looks like we had a heat problem at some point.

From doing research the locking tabs were added to the later A4LD transmissions.

More pictures of the problem, definitely a burnt clutch pack. Also the is a rubber cushion spring that was obliterated (technical term). In the last picture, all of these plates were stuck on the gear and had to be forced off one by one, almost like they were welded together from heat.

Next I moved onto rebuilding the servos with new seals. I pre soaked the seals in transmission fluid for awhile before installation.
