I hope that your really not too offended by this thread . i would hope that you would be just as offended at our black congress women here in houston that actually has the "for a lack of a better word this morning" BALLS to even bring a topic like this up. Its stupid things like this that continue to breed predudice with races that are out of touch with each other. just think you have some upper middle class white guy that really doesnt know any blacks or care to and he turns on the news and hears this kind of crap and all it does is just renforce his stereotype.

It wasn't meant to offend anyone, I am not racist but those idiots, whatever color they are down there and up here talk like idiots, if they didn't want to be made fun and be treated with respect, then speak proper grammar, get an education, and don't look for handouts from the government because they were too stupid to leave when they were told for days to get out of there before Katrina hit. I don't feel sorry for any of them. They were warned and ignored it.

The story is ridiculous. It's ridiculous because it's true. You cannot deny what she said and the stupidity of the comment. If it were a white woman wanting hurricanes to have more Anglo-sounding names, you would be all over it.

You show me a guy who says he doesn't struggle with racism in one form or another, and I'll show you a guy who is lying to your face.
Just like in any area of your life, recognition is key. Realize the areas you struggle in, and do your best to correct them. You're not going to nail it 100%, but at least your trying.
After all, we all are human beings, right? Last I checked, no one's perfect.
You show me a guy who says he doesn't struggle with racism in one form or another, and I'll show you a guy who is lying to your face.
Just like in any area of your life, recognition is key. Realize the areas you struggle in, and do your best to correct them. You're not going to nail it 100%, but at least your trying.
After all, we all are human beings, right? Last I checked, no one's perfect.

my mother is half Native-American,half Anglo my father is African-American and I'm married to a Vietnamese woman and we're planning
to have kids so its kinda hard for me when I can see/live on all sides. oh and get this my brothers wife is Hispanic (oh darn!)

we should all learn, laugh, and love in hopes of a better world and with that being said I will get back to studying
