kinda new to the site, hopefully i will be body dropping my dooooley here pretty soon. wanted to ask what the biggest problem was with these trucks or is it same old stuff as anything else.
plan is to go to the pinch and tub for 22's even though hell will freeze over before i get them.
"......insert campy quote here...."
same ole' stuff. nothing special. it is just a lot more truck to cut. you doing a stock floor or a traditional body drop? later, brian
wanting to attempt stockfloor, the un official plan is to build under cab sectin out of 2x3 flat and z front. try and get out of cutting tranny tunnel any more than i have to...same old problem..want it low but not willing to give up leg or headroom cause im a reformed minitrucker (300 lb)
i know the obvious question is why not build the whole frame...
answer...not yet lol
i am not rebuilding the whole frame either! i am too a reformed minitrucker(365lbs) and i dont want to sacrifice any legroom either. it is a rather simple build, and will have plenty of room in the end! later, brian
only issues beisdes the common ones are you building it to tow also??? keep that in mind and jsut build it a lil more solid then you would another truck big truck we bigger support
just cut till oit falls to the ground.. lol... lmao..
its not that bad if you raise the tranny tunnel, its only like 2inches and its only on top of the tranny. its really not worth sacraficing frame strengh for that. it really doesnt effect leg room.
I did a traditional and I am like 6'1" Its a little uncomfortable for headroom but I wouldn't sacfrice frame for legroom, They build the frames the way the do for a reason, I know putting in a notch alters it too but it does create a fold point when in a crash. It scares me seeing some the frames people that think they can weld build and drive on. If you need a little more leg room move your seats back alittle, people in the back seat don't matter anyways.
Is that where you make the wife ride?
i am 6'6" and need all the room i can get.(seat is already moved back for the 365lb gut) if done right, stock floor frames are quite strong. i just cut under the cab only, and leave the rear clip except for the notch.
