That thread posted not to long ago about the Thorbecke 5 link ended up in a retarded fuck fest of people bitching about Suicidedoors.com. Its a shame.
why are people hating on them now? I remember a year ago they were a godsend. And the body drop question is legitimate everything could use a body drop
I get what your saying though, we need to look at whats done, compliment the good, and HELP the bad, not criticize it. Soon as everyone starts helping, rather than bashing, this scene will expand beyond belief. The whole air ride thing catches peoples eye like nothing else, and if thats the only thing that gets a guy/girl into the slammed car/truck realm then let it be, they will see the rest as time goes on.
Im so tired of all the b/s that goes on @ truck shows......im ashamed to bring my family to somethin like that. Thats why i started goin to hot rod shows those guys know how to have a good time w/o getting outta hand.
I have noticed all the same B.S. myself. But im not going to let some jerkoff's drive me away from this great sport.I have had to sell my rides due to financial reasons but im am almost out of the hole and you can guarantee that i will be back. so you fuckers better watch out.
I'm not saying the import scene is neccesarily bigger, but it covered more extensively by the media, and when you get massive amounts of media, it generates more public intrest. Trust me, i'm not buying into anything other than the fact that this scene has lost a good amount of luster over the last couple of years. I know Bob Hase as well, and Bob is a hell of a promoter and ambassador to this indusrty, everytimei speak to him he has more and more new ideas to makes things alot better for us all. What i was refering to organization wise, is a sanctioning body much like the NHRA is to drag racing, or the NSRA or goodguys is to hot rodding. I personally think if done right you could really spark some indusrty intrest. I do agree that it is all what you make of it, thats why i propose we make some changes to inject some life back into the hobby we all love.

An association would be great. The Southern California Minitruck Council has been around for years. It
I dunno about praising the hot rod guys when I actually take my truck to the weekly car show out here I can't tell you how many older hot rod guys walk by my truck and talk shit not realizing i'm the owner close by. But it's always kind of been their show, which is good that mini-truckers are going to lot59 again out here. I didn't park in the "mini truck" section and I had a security guard tell me to move it or leave beacause it's "dangerous". Why did he think it was dangerous? A bad impression someone left probably. I might even be guilty of that because I love to go out and drag my truck though. But sitting there laid out i was told to move yet something i think i more dangerous.. the hot rods than were shooting flames out of their exhaust around a crowd of people. I keep my opinions about other peoples cars to myself or friends because I know if it were me I wouldn't take a bad comment lightly. I didn't build my truck, I've helped with a few things, pretty much did the 1st hack bag job, I don't have the skills or time, so I pay for it to get done right and safe now and had all the hacked un-safe stuff re-done, does that make me any less of a mini-trucker since i won't BUILD it myself? Does that mean the ideas didn't come from my head? Sometimes I hesitate whether or not I even want to go to a show because of some peoples attitudes. I'm only 20, and I've only gotten into mini-trucks about a year ago. Hearing stories of fights and stupid shit makes me not want to go to the shows and meet new people sometimes.
i propose an "ACT A FOOL" rule if u go to a show and see some one actin a damn fool u pull him off 2 the side n tell him 2 chill he then has 5 min 2 calm down if hes still actin out get 2 of buddies and yall escort him out of the show if ppl ask wsup when yall r leavin just say HE WAS ACTIN A DAMN FOOL im sure theyll understand
LOL...i know your not directing anything personal at me, Jim. Its all good bro, your making LOTS of real valid points. I'm glad to hear people speaking up about whats happening to our hobby, maybe some of you are right, maybe we need to stand up and stop people from doing stupid shit that ruins it for all of us, maybe we all should be more tolerant to some of the newbies trying to fit in. I just feel like lack of respect is what is holding this hobby back.

But have you seen some of there new stickers? There is a lot of disrespectfull stuff there. There not the only ones, but it's a good example. when you "older" guys started out, you really didn't have much to influence the way you acted except for mini truckin' magazine. MT mag didn't have stickers that said "my trucks cooler than your piece of shit" any were. So us "young" guys see stuff like this when we are first starting out, and think that we need to have the "bad attitude" image that is shown so much at the places we look.I've learned a lot in my two years as a minitrucker, mainly respect for other people's rides out side of the genres I like. I've come to a point were if I see something on someone's car that I dont like, I keep my mouth shut. One man's giant wing and euro lights on a 96 Grand Am is the same to that owner as a body drop and shave job to a owner of a 96 Hard Body.
This is the longest post I have ever posted.
