WHY?

RESPECT...there isn't near enough of it in this scene, its been getting worse too over the last few years! Have any of you ever wondered why the minitruckin' scene has been around longer than tuner cars, but gets no TV coverage, has no show series, has not 1/10 of the growth?? Its because there is no organization in any sense of the word, and there is no organization because there is no respect!! Who wants to hangout with a bunch of dorks that just wanna start shit, tear up hotel rooms, and destroy anything they get near? So heres your wake up call!!! Get your shit straight!!

i dont know, its just not 'our' scene, its everyday life. anywhere im sure, theres alot of pricks that like to start things cause they have nothing to lose. of course beer balls never help and when people get in front of thier firends, they act different. and i dont care, i do things for my self, it takes no balls to start a fight or wreck a hotel, but heart to say " what the fuk ,stop being dumd, stop this crap, your going to ruin it for us...etc" alot of people feed of others, they like to follow. stay true for what we are about and always stand up for whats right. this is america, where people tend to follow the 'in crowd'. i could be in a beater/stockers and no body would show love,( but my wallet could be fat as my bank account and you wouldnt know)) or then id be balling in a show/cover/24's ride and everybody wants to suck it...ahahahaha go figure. i hate people period. thats why i tend to stay to myself. everyone is always to busy trying to be better then the next guy.

we as a whole need to take a step back and decide what we want out of this sport,hobby whatever you want to call it. becuase it is going down. the majority of the people that i see that have built a high caliber ride and have hung around for a few years are leaving this scene and going to the streetrod scence and if you have ever been to a rod show you would know why. there are rides there that people have been bbuilding for ten or fifteen years and they are FLAWLESS and 90% of them will talk you damm head off. and then there are cars that are the exact oppisite of the spectrum they are drivers and the owner loves them and no one is bashing them or talking shit. there are no fights at the show or parties wet t shirt and tits maybe afterwards but the show is for the cars and the people who love them. they drink there but they put there trash in the trash can. we as a culture of our own need to learn from the streetrod and hotrod people who push for laws in there favor and get them and fight for what they love.

i love cars trucks lowriders not so much ricers but thats what makes this passion that we all share what it is. if we all liked the same thing it would suck or diffrent veiws make up some of the sickest rides on the planet. we take aspects from every industry and apply them to this scene.
if you dont have a ride and you want to talk shit we should start the ssm court and boot your ass out. we are not all rich and some people have to take it slow to get the things they want and save every extra penny they get to buy one valve at a time or buy one peice of steel a week but they have the drive to keep on.

treat all of the peple at the show like you would treat your kids or mother and this would be alot better place to be if not it will slowly shut down and be those assholes in them shitty trucks.

i love my truck and will keep on without you if i have to so its up to you do whats right please.

Russ, Honestly I think that what you do on here is great..keep all the information flowing on streetsource..I would love to join you but I refuse to pay garrick one cent for this site LOL. (I have my reasons).,.so my monthly posts are limited, and I usually waste them posting meaningless shit.

I am not going to lie..there was a point after I got rid of my yota I said I was done with the scene...mainly because of all the bullshit. I dislike the crap that goes on behind the scene...

And I totally agree with you Mitch about the fact that the minitruckers lack organization. Its amazing to think about how much more we could accomplish if we actually were able to grab the respect of other automotive enthusiasts, Instead of being the badasses that I think we are viewed as. I dont see tuner shows getting shut down...Think about how cool it would be if we could get 2 shows back on the west coast at La Paz....

This topic could also turn into what constitutes a true mini trucker...do people who buy built trucks...or have their trucks built by a shop constitute mini truckin.. I bet some would say no...I think fuck yea they do. Why? because they obviously cared enough about the scene to drop a tonne of money on a pre built mini truck...you have to realize some people don

damn...im trying but its hard to sum it up in 2 sentances...

Everything is what you make of it. If you are a negative person, you will in turn try to drag everyone else down to make yourself feel better. Sit in chat for a day and you will see the kind of bs that will scare people away.

We, Art of Noize, used to catch crap ( and kind of still do) for our cali show. We had all types of rides. Lowriders, some really sic compacts, minitrucks, etc. People, even an X editor, would talk smack because we had this style of ride or that. I tell them look at the work in the ride not the ride. There are some amazing cars that people won't look at because its not Minitruckin. Imani Shakur and his Unfadeable crew had amazing compacts for a few years and people would talk smack on them. Just blew me away.



As far as organizing. Bob Hase has tried for YEARS to get everyone on the same page. And what does he get? People running their mouth about his run. He got sued by a punk kid one year for the kid being stupid at a show yet he still throws at least one run a year.



Alot of the people that had river runs are still working with La Paz and other cities trying to get it back. Thats YEARS of work to just try and get something back for the scene. The kind of thank you they get is destroyed campgrounds and bathrooms on the runs they can pull off.

Tuners are bigger why?.. Cheaper to build to be cool? Are they really as big as people think? Or are you buying into being on TV as being big? How many big shows do they really have?

Look at "the scene" from coast to coast and see how many decent sized shows there really are. Only tuner shows I hear of are NOPI. So thats one machine pushing the game.



Kris with a K and Garrick have a neat site here. While it is not a whole showing of the scene it does give you a good idea on things. There are MANY "scene" related sites, videos and magazines.



If you think the scene is bad just try starting with your own club. Instead of people brawling over the stupid things that have been going on. Try to solve it before the damage. If you have a member that does damage HANDLE IT. It's amazing when you just man up and handle it. They don't want to step up and handle it. Get rid of them and as a club handle it.

You create your own reality. If you do not like it, it's up to you to change it.

here's the thing.....for all of us old school guys (Ive been minitrucking for about 14 yrs), its a different world out there for us now. We still do the same thing, while the growing crowd is getting younger and "smarter". And Im not dissing young ppl b/c there are plenty that have my respect as builders (Lil B & Seth just to name a couple). But seriously....look at some of the shit we used to do to our rides when we were their age. Everyone has done something stupid once in thier life, I know I have for sure. Now I look back and laugh at that stuff, but instead of doing that, there are alot of "veterans" in this sport who talk trash on the young ones. Its not just the young ones that do the trash talking!! Everyone in this sport should be like Russ and educate at will. Russ definately gets my vote for most helpful person on this site, hands down. He is a wealth of knowledge and is not afraid to share that information. BioMax is another, and I applaude both of these men for what they do for our sport. If more ppl would be like them and encourage instead of talk smack on, this would be an entirely different sport. I could ramble on about this for hours, and I have w/ several close friends, but im not gonna do it here....

In the end...If you ppl want the sport we love to continue to grow and be strong, then START SHOWING RESPECT!!!!!

ive been seeing this shit alot more lately too. Its been like this for so long. All you hear is "why isnt it bodydropped?" "why doesnt it lay?" shit like that.
