your not looking for a good paint job if you only want to spend 6k, im nto sayin your cheap its just that custom paint shops usually start at about that, the bummer is that there is no medium, its either early shiebe, maaco and one day paint , or anything bad ass starting and hovering around 10k, good luck to you, i think if you came to the atelope valley you could get it done for around 6 if you went to all the shops locally, i could help you out as far as judging quality but you could see that for yourself at each shop. good luck.

in the new truckin they're doing some F150 called "Project: Drag the doors" and Maaco is doing the paint it was like $2400 for 2-tone and some body work and the rendering is all shaved but its not shaved yet so i dont know why the painted or bodyworked the dings it had yet...but anyways it talks about cheap "show quality" paintjobs and stuff and talking up maaco how all they do is bodywork and paint so why not take it to them...

I'm in the LAX area.I figured good paint work was expensive, but I thought maybe someone out there could do it for less.No wonder I see all these rides unfinished.

What if I got someone to do the body work, and I took a stab at painting the truck myself? How difficult would painting a truck be,if the equipment used was high quality.I've seen some guys paint a truck for the first time, and they looked pretty decent. It seems labor is where you get hit at the most.

IF 10K IS THE GOING PRICE IN CALI FOR A TWO TONE THEN -- COME DOWN TO TX AND GET YOUR PAINT DONE -- SOME DAMN GOOD SHOPS AND THEY WONT CHARGE YOU 10K FOR A TWO TONE -- THATS CRAZY -- PAINT AND MATERIALS YOU ARE PROBABLY LOOKING AT AROUND 600- 1000 ON PAINT DEPENDING ON WHAT BRAND AND TYPE OF PAINT -- BODY WORKS A DFFERENT STORY -- NOT SURE WHAT NEED TO BE DONE --

i am paying 12K for single color. if you want the best, you will pay for it. dont go cheap at the end, I am sure you have put quite a bit of money in your truck. i have learned the hard way. do it right the first time. if you dont like the paint, and it has to be repainted, you will end up spending more later. pay the $7500 and get a guarantee in writing so they will fix any problems down the line. (pealing, blisters, etc)
