iLLblazer i'm with you on this one.you cannot belive some of the crap i've seen it seems that you get some guy who thinks he can weld goes and buys a welder at the local tool shop and all of a sudden he is a first class welder/fabricator and knows everything it's these hacks that give the type 1 guys a bad rap you cannot fault type 2 guy/gal at least they know hey i'm at my limit this is where type 1 guy steps in and makes this great hobby safe. sooner or later type 3 is gonna get whats comin to him in the form of a lawsiut/dead for his total lack of sense or stupidity.

I think some of the blame can be on the people that are always quoting "built not bought." I think this can be misleading and makes a lot of people that don't know how to do custom work, to do it themself so they can get respect and say they did it and not a shop.

I have no problem paying a shop and paying for parts. I might not be able to build all of my own ride but I will sure pay for it all! NO SPONSORS!

I too have seen the "boogers" and "dude that's close enough" crap that people can build. I'm actually in the process of fixing a type 3 I bought super cheap. I think that even when you consider yourself type 2 or a type 1, you still have to look at your ride and find the flaws. I know that even after building 7 minis and 2 import cars on air with my brother, I still have a lot to learn. My suggestion, take the time to research what you are doing, practice your skills, and know your limitations. Oh yeah, if your driving a type 3, would you mind following behind me, I like my life most of the time and would rather not die from a 4 link bar off your truck.

i agree with most of this but most people need motivation to finish their rides and if they keep hearing "you fukked your ride up!" they are never gonna wanna finish it and probably fall out of the minitruckin sport. when i bought my truck i didnt even know what a bodydrop was and i had a bad experience with other people working on my truck so i decided to learn on my own. i have had to fix a lot of things i messed up the first time but you live and you learn. i have also done quality work on other peoples rides but i made sure i aquired the skills before i did work on other peoples rides. where i live there arent many minitruckers so its not like i have a bunch of people to help me and im pretty sure people on here can relate. i have a learned alot from people on this site and i probably wouldnt still be working on my truck if i never recieved any positive comments. my point is, i think more people should try to help instead of making them feel like sh1t. instead just let them know what they are doing wrong and maybe let them know how to do it right. but i agree 100% if its unsafe keep it off the road and if you dont know what your doing dont work on other peoples rides. now im going to sleep

Well by no means am I saying not to encourage people, but at the same time...if you are new to building...wouldnt you rather hear a better way to do something, before finding out the hard way down the road that your idea didnt work. Liks if someone has experience or knowledge that you dont, listen up, they arent hating, they are trying to help. Some people are just too damn proud to realize that though I think.
