wow... something that has truly needed to be said. it took me 3 years to get mine from a 3 to a 2 to a 1. mine has changed dramatically and yes at one point in time it wasn't safe to ride in. i will say that... and all the crap we see at shows, sure they may drag the strip up twice as much as anybody else, but everyone gets tired of seein that hacked up primerd crap. i never showed mine while in primer.. i kept that damn thing at home.. i showed it a few years ago with the bags and while i was re-modelin it i kept it at home so nobody would laugh at me. nobody wants to see a primered bucket sittin next to a 50k$$$ ride

Most of the people on here have had their vehicles in primer for an extended period of time so i wouldnt hate on that. I would rather see a run of the mill s10 bagged on 22s in full primer then a drag toyora with a 4 banger and a 3500 3 month long bd bed floor.

i think the thing that pisses me off more than the "lets try this and see if it works" type 3 guy is the "I know what the fuck im doing so ill open up a shop" guys. i think they are worse cuz they are under the impression they do good enough work to build for profit, not just personal satisfaction. SO... for all you guys out there that are telling individual minitruckers where their problems lie, i think its more important to tell a shop to shut its fuckin doors till they get their shit together. ultimately...do it your selfers see the bad shit that comes out of shops and trys to make their shit look as good. and the sad thing is that a lot of the type 3 trucks look better than some of the shit ive seen come out of shops.

make a point to the guys that come on here and say "don't listen to those guys" or "are you an engineer"
Actually, I am an engineer. A mechanical engineer at that. Even I couldn't imagine where to even begin some of the truly wild builds out there. Building sick show trucks/cars is more of a perfect amalgamation of art, engineering, and tons of talent than anything. Hats off to the guys that can do it on a daily basis and make it look easy.
Yeah, I posted this on another forum. The thread of the truck I posted in i wouldnt consider hack so dont take it as I'm saying that. The guy was posting progress pictures of his build, and a few people, myself included, noted ways that things could be done so that they are stronger/safer in the long run...and were replied to by guys asking if we're engineers or calling us haters..and it got me thinking on this whole topic. The truck in the thread really has nothing to do with it, but its just the responses given by people who take every damn 'negative' comment as hate. Hate is shit like "man that paint is ugly" and crap like that. I dont consider 'hating' telling someone that they might want to gusset something, reconsider bag placement, etc. I think thats just trying to help out. It might not be what they want to hear, but I dont think it should be taken negatively. Then it kinda snowballed into a big rant. And yeah, I have been in a Mechanical Engineering Program for a couple years. I'm not sure if its for me or not yet, but I do have some education on stuff beyond building trucks.

No, I was pointing out that I wasnt referring to a specific truck. My rant just happened to be in his thread, so I made clear that I wasnt referring to his truck, thats all.
