it might be the guy has never been out of his home town and all he has ever seen is the mini trukn mags. maybe he really can't afford to pay someone to build a truck for him. people need to learn in the SHOW CAR world everone is looking real close at your ride, and critisum will sone follow good or bad.

^ but thats no excuse. small town or not because i guarntee there is a certified welder in the area. PLus you can always find some sort of 4x4 shop or race shop in the area that knows the correct geometry of a 4 link.

I had never built a frame in my life...
On my previous ride all I had done really was bag the front and shave some shit, and do the interior and fiberglass work..... most people would have said i'd never be able to build a frame.
But I did... I didn't go into it with a chip on my shoulder though, I knew i'd have to be asking for all kinds of help from friends and others, searching the internet for help etc... I had a lot of input from a couple friends, some of it I took and used it on my frame, other stuff I didn't and thought about it on my own and came up with my own way of doing things.
I knew one thing though, I wasn't going to rush it, and i wasn't going to build a hacked up mess. I took all the advice i was given and used it to help me build what I did.
Sometimes people need to put their pride and ego's behind them and take the advice of others that have been there and done that before... they are only telling you this stuff to help you out, not to hate on you.

yeah me and james walked around scrapefest and noticed quite a few "hack jobs"
i started out 4 years ago not knowing anything about building minis. after hanging out w/ james and getting to work on trucks, including my own, i have come along way. if someone will take the time to learn and ask questions when they don't know something, then they can actually build stuff the safe and right way.

I agree with the fact that a lot of people are putting out junk...its not that fact that it all looks bad, but its the way it was done, and the idea that it is probably going to get someone killed....ive had some people locally mention stuff about bodydroppin their trucks and stuff, when they do good to figure out how to turn a key and start a vehicle....practice and learning is good....and thats what im currently doing with mine...ive been workin on it for about 2 years now...and the reason its not done is because im not comfortable doing whats left on my own...thats why i wait to get some people that do to help me....and on a show note..i couldnt imagine letting people see some of the stuff out there ive seen...sometimes im leary about showing mine...im not trying to "hate" on anyone...i just think people should wait until their vehicles are truly show ready...patience and a little extra money is well worth it...but anyways thats my half a cent worth...
