I know of one that fits the Toyota spindle but havent tried it on a Mazda spindle. I do know theres a balljoint that fits the Toyota and Mazda, but its a GM one made by Moog, they also have an Autodrive version thats a K5108, and the K5208 also fits but has a longer shaft.

ill see if there is one that fits the Mazda spindle asap. the 84-94 Toyota spindles with some screw in balljoints would be an easy 5 lug swap on a Mazda.

I'm aware that the two spindles are completely different, as well as the upper ball joint holes being different.

Mike, I think we're on the same page but I'll clarify. I'm looking for a screw-in upper for both a Mazda and Toy spindle. I'm aware that they have different hole sizes but would like to find a screw in balljoint for each of them. I know the lowers can use the same, looking for a screw in lower as well, but I know those are easy to find.

Part numbers would be great. I appreciate the help Mike.

I didnt check the screw in balljoints today, the smaller ones I ordered havent come in yet.

Im pretty sure they fit both, as well as the Mustang II also. I also know they make a chrome cover that goes over the top of the arms, its held on by a screw that screws into the grease fitting hole. very cool street rod shit.....

I've found the screw-in ones for the Mustang II spindles, I didn't know if they'd work or not on a Mazda spindle. Let me know when you find something out.

the K772 which fits the Toyota upper spindle hole, does not fit the Mazda. Ill pull the upper balljoint off the Mustang II street rod clip off the frame on my frame table and see if it fits the Mazda. Im thinkin it probably wont, but ill see and post it later today.

the ones on the Mustang II spindles I have dont fit the Mazda. you have three choices from there.

1. use the stock Mazda balljoints and make some balljoint plates
2. use a taper drill bit (I have one) and drill the spindle out.
3. use a GM balljoint like the Autodrive K5108 or 5208. both aftermarket but longer travel then the stock Mazda or the screw in type. also the ones we use on S-10 arms that will lay 22s and have enough travel for enough lift to clear the S-10 fenders with 22s.
you would need plates for these as well. I have these plates or you can get them from some speed shops.

how far away is that mustang II balljoint from working? my originial thought was that I would probably have to taper the hole more, I was just trying to get around it. Is that balljoint close enough that it will work like that?

the hole in the Mazda upper spindle must be enlarged a little, it would need a taper drill to do the job. let me know if you need some spindles. I have a couple sets of extra stock Mazda spindles.

I can drill the upper hole to fit the screw in upper balljoint and drill the lower hole to accept a screw in lower balljoint that comes in from the bottom.
