Well damnit, I'm sponsored by BFG and Audiobahn, So i'm going outside right now and kicking my truck....Twice, Then i'm going to kick myself....WHO CARES.,...I'm sponsored for prior vehicles built at the shop...Look at the pics of my truck I"M BUILDING IT MYSELF. With my own money....and diong it ALL myself...Will it be cover quality, dont know, dont care, dont want it to be...I'm just building it to build it,..Its my toy...screw it.....People care too much about others...Care more about what your driving, forget what he/she is driving.....

i agree with you so some extent.my s10 had sponsors...of course anyone will take a free part if they can.and it doesnt hurt to try...but i dont think the guys from MT favor people who kiss their ass or anything like that.if people didnt buy built rides,what the hell would we do with them when we didnt want them anymore and wanted to move onto a new project? One thing I will say I do hate,is a kid who buys a ride semi if not completely done and brags like he/she built it.I'm surprised I didnt see shit talking in your post being a problem in the scene.

Why should any of this trivial bullshit matter anyhow? Build it the way you want. If you want to build a dragger...build a dragger...if you want to build a show truck to show and win trophies with...build it! If your building a truck on your own with no sponsors, i commend you, thats great. If you built a all out sponsored full custom creation with yours or your daddy's or the banks money, i commend you! Who gives a shit? I surely don't! I respect each and every person who puts it all on the line to pursue a dream...and the rest of you belly aching motherfuckers should too! We all have a common intrest...TRUCKS or did all of you forget about that? Its not sponsors or magazine editors that are killing this scene, its pure bullshit hatred like im hearing above thats killing it.

So what yall are sayin is that only shop built trucks get features??? Thats the biggest bunch of bullshit ive ever heard!! There are plenty of home-built rides featured every month.

This argument about shop vs home built rides is in every scene...Yall should give credit to the shops that are building these sick rides. Without them our "scene" would not be progressing as it is! It really doesnt matter as long as they are getting built!! Shops and garage builders are pushing the envelope daily.

I do h8 the people who buy a finished ride and claim they built it...Hell I have a finished ride and would never claim to have built it. Ive had mag offers and turned them down...

Bottom line is quit bitchin!!! After all isnt it about meeting and hanging out with people that share the same interests as you??

#1 The bar of mini-truckin' in the past 5+ years have risen EXTREMELY HIGH!!! Doing complete frame up builds are becoming the normal, competing against and winning street/hot rods now. If you want to stay back in the 80's and build a truck from scrap metal laying around the garage then snag a time machine. Times have changed. I agree it sucks, but the caliber of rides are CRAZY CLEAN and BADASS!!!!



#2 If you finish your truck I'm pretty sure you'd LIKE TO SELL it right? To work on ANOTHER PROJECT!!! So you are PUTTING DOWN others that buy done/finished trucks, so now you're screwing yourself, or you plan on keeping your project until you die, or gonna blow it up for insurance money?



#3 If you was on the flip side of the coin receiving the free shit, you'd turn it down?



#4 Different magazines do different things. So why you worried if others like hangin' off editor's nuts? Maybe they like being gay?



#5 There are ALOT of people in your place and do the same thing you do, so just chill out and let the players do their thing. Just sounds like your jealous they're getting free shit and you're not.

The only people fuckin up the scene are people doing halfass dangerous bag setups and people who drag all over the highways and on stock cars (people outside the scene) and finally people like you, everyone is hating about who is true and who is not... get outta here with that bullshit. If you wanna be true do what you think is right without having to announce it to everyone... don't be mad that the scene is blowing up and more people are quickly jumping in with no knowledge - thats what could hurt the scene. So be a role model and show all these new comers how to live it right.... don't forget the difference between the scene and the lifestyle...

The Lifestyle = The people who live the scene.

Oh and like few others have said, I can do some stuff, but others I don't know, so I do what I do know or learn to do it. I only know a few guys that know how to weld, fabricate frames, suspension design, do full paint/clear/air brush/etc, rebuild a full engine in a day, and run a damn sewing machine to make interior, then turn around and fiberglass some shit up. Take that to any MAJOR SHOW and be able to compete on the level we're at now... That person would be SUPERMAN!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges, take Jesse James for example. He builds BAD FRIGGEN ASS BIKES, allways has, allways will. Does he paint them? I never seen an episode where he mixes the paint, shoots, air brushes, lays tape and graphics, and clears. But his logo and signature is on all WCC bikes. Same goes for everyone in our sport, or hell anyone in ANY SPORT!!! You think Lance Armstrong builds his bicycles he races???

All these cats have one thing in comon!!! They're GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO, so they're getting PAID to do just THAT!!!! Someone has to pay them, and you're critising the AVERAGE PERSON for doing just that. You build your bags? NOPE, CHILL OUT DUDE AND DRAG!!!! If that's what you're into.
