Wow that was the biggest waste of time ever on this site. Quit whinning about stupid shit, and get your ass out there and build something. Who gives a shit if it gets featured, as long as your happy with it.

This scene is getting ruined by people bitching about dumb shit, and not remembering the basics, we do this because will like it. If you dont like it anymore, just stop.

I can see this both ways.

On the one hand, why get all worked up over not winning trophies or getting magazine features? Who are you building for? Everybody else, or yourself?

On the other hand, more should probably be done to create a level playing field at shows. I've always thought it was asinine to have trailer queens competing directly with daily drivers. Don't get me wrong: I love seeing those pieces of automotive art......even if they aren't technically "AUTO-motive"....

But, at the risk of promoting parking-lot pimping, I still think the heart and sould of minitrucking is the stares, nods and thumbs-ups you get while you're driving down the road......even if you're just headed to Wal-Mart.

I agree with OJ. I think the coolest thing is when you drag the shit out of your truck, and there is some old man crappin his pants but not 10 feet from him is some little kid grinnig from ear to ear. FUCK MAGAZINES......except for the 3 major truck magazines

A lot of you guys arn't understanding what Chad and Fred are trying to say. We put our blood, sweat and tears into a ride and try our hardest to make it look good and in a sense people like to get the attention for a damn fine ride but when someone comes in who hasn't done anything to their ride but take free handouts and get features, it kind of takes that little bit of attention that the guy who has done the hard work to his ride away pushing him/her into the shadows. We went to havoc a while back and Fred hopped his truck and a photographer from MT (don't remember who) came over and layed down on the floor pulled out his little tripod and set his camera up. I told Fred to wait until he got his stuff set up before he hopped it. Once he was ready, Fred hopped it and he got some nice pictures. We waited for that issue to come out and when it did, there was no pics of his truck on there. They were all the pristine rides. I guess a truck just as nice hopping on 20's isn't good enough for them. In a sense it made him a little mad. We do the builds for ourselves but there is that little element of wanting people to see what you have done. I wanted a feature but I didn't want to go begging to potential sponsors to give me this and that. If I wanted a feature then it would be done under my own work and money. After a while all the mags went a different direction and there was not one mag anymore that would even consider my car because they were geared towards a particular type of customizing(lowrider, euro, truck, mini, etc). I eventually gave up and I don't give a s**t about trophy's so now I basically just go to shows and drag it. The only way I will ever get a feature is if I buy another ride. Moral of the story is these guys arn't whiny bit**es, they are tired of getting knocked into the shadows of rides that people can't and shouldn't take pride in a ride they did not completed themselves in some way shape or form.

I like to bitch about my job, and the weather, and people smoking, and why when at a stripclub a stripper does the same thing for 2 dollars when its the same thing for 1 dollar (i know better to only give a dollar ) and on the strip club thing a stripper ask if i wanted a dance for 30 dollars and i told her all i had was 29 and she said sorry thats not enough. WTF is a dollar if i just gave it to you on stage? that is how to bitch.

None of these....don't be fooled,,,, If you park your ride and can't help staring at it as you walk away,,,,that's self acceptance regardles if you built it or had it built. If you are looking for others to like your ride for acceptance,,you will never be happy. Thumbs up, stares,,photos are just extra toppings on your pie of happiness.
