LOL yea thats a long list, i liked Josh Freemans LowLife feature.. his thanks were just close to "id like to thank.. my girlfriend.. and ME" i thought that was cool, no long list just shows some of us what's possible on our own to encourage us more.

my opinion is whether you build the truck yourself, or buy it pre-built.. it has nothing do do with your ride to me its your attitude. you can make the truck/or make someone elses truck yours, but the truck doesnt make the person.

WOW! I can't believe my eyes This goes back to the same negativity I just wrote about in the Feb. issue... everyone is so worried about this and that, when instead of complaining you should spend that energy working on your ride and get it to the point where you can be proud of it... honestly it really is a bummer when ppl try to negate the lifestyle we live and love, because things don't go "their way"...

everyone has to bitch about somethin, if you really love what you do forget what those other people are doing or not doing and go do what you love. build a badass ride for yourself and stop being so damn jealous.

There's really no need for this to be in the forums...if you feel that trucks should be built and not bought, that's fine. Keep it to yourself. If you think it's OK to buy a finished ride, that's fine too. Keep it to yourself. By bringing it to the forefront of everyone's mind, you've not accomplished anything besides making people in YOUR COMMUNITY uncomfortable. That's it and that's all. Congratulations. When we all cram ourselves in to the next show guess what??? We're going to be parked door-to-door with each other, and having a (hopefully) great time. There may be a total POS parked right next to a $50K ride, and as long as there's shade and something cold to drink I'll bet the owners will hit it off. Just my two cents...

I don't have the skills it takes to build what I want, so I'll always pay for a true professional to do it for me. But its my money not daddy's or mommy's so as far as it goes I spend it how I want.
If that makes me fake in the "Lifestyle" end of it, so be it.........

And I'd much rather see cherry vehicles in magazines than some truck with a sick bag and B/D and a tight paint job but the interior 1/2 done.......c'mon lets be real
BUT!
I have been reading these magazines for years on end and I do agree, they favor certian groups more than others, but lets be honest, most the time these are the Clubs setting the trends and putting out the quality.........

I have been building trucks for a few years now and have seen all sides of this rant. I personally am an outsider to the lifestyle of minitruckin. But I have found that working for and hanging out with you diehards is very enjoyable. Many of the best trucks I have worked on have not made cover of any magazine. They are still baddass and their owners have rides they can be proud of. The first guys who I started building vehicles for were not interested in trophies, they wanted to go to shows, party and drag their sh*t all over town. They rehash their stories of draggin on this guy or that girl and have a good time. When they lose at a show, they talk lots of sh*t, sober up, go home, and prepare for the next time. What I have learned from all this; There is always someone with more money or time. Build what you want with what you got, but build it to enjoy it. Drive it, try not to trash it (that just costs you money you could spend on more improvements), and just have fun. The lifestyle should be fun. There can only be one vehicle in first and there are lots of people competing for that spot and if they got more money........well, you know.

Remember, for every David vs Goliath story you have heard, there are thousands of untold stories where the underdog did not win.

Just my 11 cents

Im with Kool Aid I only want to see under construction if they are truly bad ass.

As for trailer queens and sponsored rides, that is bad ass...I love to see a truck that is so badass and G'ed up from the feet up. It reminds me of of all the badass hotrods that you see at autoshows. It is awsome to know that our sport in part is kinda melding in with that crowd.

Man, I must be missing something. So if you have a rich guy, kiss ass and get sponsored a cover ride magically appears? I think you (Chad) are forgetting the fact that either way someone had to build it. If it's clean it's clean, I never remember the owners name or what they look like anyway. I just examine the ride and hopefully a fine model. As far as sponsers go, shit everyone and their mom wants one from the time I can remember (bout 15 years now). Yeah, it's frustrating supporting your own habit and seeing "the rich get richer" but the fact remains; sponsers need more than you and me saying,"yeah man, Im gonna build this real clean ride..this and that". They need to know there is some money to build and that its going to get exposure. So don't think that ALL of these guys just wake up one day with shit on their doorstep and start calling shops to build for them. Maybe a few, but it just doesn't seem fair to make the statement you did so general. By the way, the only shit I got sponsered with in 15 years is a case of oil from redline so don't be so frustrated. Go into debt if you think you can really build a cover truck in your driveway. That's what I'm trying to do and the debt thing is working out flawlessly!
