I cut just enough to clear in mine then bought some sheetmetal at Lowes and made a small tunnel. Took me a few hours, and that was actually the time I got dehydrated and had to goto the ER LOL
btw, nice work man.. we have the same jack! :)
later models came witha 2 piece shaft which you can just swap and install the carrier bearing. without problems (depending on the movement of your suspension).
cheapest way is to just hack that crossmember and raise the shaft tunnel.
well, i guess next weekend i'll have to crawl underthere again, with a light this time(broke my bulbs) , and see wtf i need to do, minimal. It's gonna be snowin up here soon, i really gotto pick up the pace. thnks guys

i checked it out, looks like i'm gonna take mike B's advice, little pinion change, and a hammer, its' just this little hump i'll have no prob pounding out. Thanks

I have a 2 piece and so do a lot of folks and we've had no problems...I guess thats a Chevy problem.
i just always put a 2 piece in mazdas, so the carpet and back panels wont have to be cut. ive never had a problem
i cant tell by the picture..but if its just hittin the bracing thats underneath the cab where the cab bolts go through..just cut a notch out..itll be fine....
if its literally hitting the bottom of the cab...make a lil tunnel for it.
do it right the first time...or u gonna have to go back!

your welcome bro. fix that sucka up so you can :Drag: that sucka down keep up the good work and check out my profile just updated it and my trucks back on the road after 4 and a half months and a hurricane later. :VTC:
if you install the 2 piece you are gonna get into a bunch of driveline angle troubles, the 1 piece is alot easier to get the pinion angle right and have no vibration.
