In oregon no part of your truck can overtake the bottom lip of your rim... which is pretty cool cuz if you got some lo pro's you can go pretty low

if that was the law id be set. it said on the ticket 6" off of the ground. id have to have some big fucking tires to be 6" off the ground and under the lip of my rim.

well, yesterday on my way to LNO, i got pulled over again for being "too low" and no rear bumper. when the officer told me me i was too low, i said "sir, im not trying to argue with you, but i was recently cited for being too low, however i did some fl statute research and found no such law."

anyhow, he said, "well good you dont want to argue with me, and you might get another one today..."

so he comes back like 10mins later with a fix-it ticket for my lack of a bumper and said 316.251 fl statute states that a privately owned vehicle under 2500 lbs must have a bumper height of at least 22".

someone please read statue 316.251 on

http://www.flsenate.gov/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=Ch0316/SEC251.HTM&Title=->2005->Ch0316->Section%20251#0316.251i think the police departments need to screen for ability to pass reading comprehension at a 5th grade level before they receieve a badge.

" front and a rear bumper such that when measured from the ground to the bottom of the bumper the maximum height shall be as follows:"

unless i dont know what MAX HEIGHT means.. according to that statute there is no MINIMUM bumper law. that is only for lifted trucks.

heres an idea.. print that out. and have it in ur truck. get pulled over for it and hand it to him. "sir, that law only states for max height, if u have one for minumum height id like to see it"

and as for bumper.. what does it have to be for it to consitude as a bumper? and seriously, in the back or a truck, wtf does it matter as long as u have a plate legally mounted with lights?

good thing i live in michigan where they dont give a shit if ur car has bumpers, fenders, hoods, ETC.

florida doeshave a height law but as i have been pulled over for before it hasnothing to do with bumper height...its 24inches to th center of your headlight....i dont know the statute # though.....i have argued this 2 times with cops and when they hear me say "i am of leagal operating height....the center of my headlight is more than 24inches off the ground"......twice now they shut up and know that i know my shit when it comes to unsafe equpment violations.....once in the s-10 he argued i was 23 7/8 off the ground so i nudged it forward and asked him to remeasure he said i will let it slide this time......another time in the taco i was parked and he tried to say i was to low and he would write me a ticket and i replied "i will make sure my headlight is 24 inches on center when i leave" he didnt argue much after that and they both left me alone....

look it up and see if you can find it but if it isnt uder the statute he wrote on the ticket....FIGHT IT!!!!

This doesnt have anything to do with the height law, but I got pulled over one night for tag placement and my 36" LED taillight, and the cop argued with me for 10 minutes saying that I had the wrong registration because it said Isuzu. He told me that it was a Chevy S10. I finally convinced him to check the registration with the vin number. What an a$$hole. One of his comments was that there was no Isuzu emblems on the truck. I asked him if he saw any emblems on the truck. They kill me.

oh yea, im definately fighting the 1st ticket.

and i think i will print out that statute as well as the headlight one. i think there is also one about taillights have to be 12" off of the ground as well. which is cool for me know cuz the taillights are mounted to the top bedrail.

as far as the bumper goes, you can fight some and say that some xtremes come from the factory with a roll pan. and they are like, oh yea, thats right. i didnt want to fight both tickets this guy wanted to give me. i figure $7.50 to get signed off by a cop if i can rig up a bumper is better than going to court in orange county which is over an hour from home.

well here in virginia, the legal height is 14" from the bumper bracket to the ground, and in lack of bumper the bottom of the frame rail.
