The headlight limit is 24" to center in Fl. I was pulled over for it and my headlights were 19" off the ground when he nailed me. I took it to court and it got thrown out because I was not parked on level ground. I always pull over with one wheel off the road when I can just in case.
hey i gotta ask what the hell do they do about ferraris and lamborghinis and lotus' and such those cars would have to be illegal to drive from the factory ang therefore untaggable in florida right.
i tried the factory s-10 rollpan excuse and the trooper told me it dosent matter its my responsibility to replace the factory rollpan with a bumper....then i reverted to the corvette rear end and he ended the discussion and gave me a ticket for my acro.net logo on the bottom of my front window since it was below my as-1 line...funny though that when lookin out the window the windshield wipers were more of and obstruction at rest and appeared higher visually than the logo...fuckin FL cops
I got pulled over for riding to low and the cop told me it was against the law. I told him that I had read the TN Code Annotated and that no where in the book does it say anything about a "minimum" bumper height! Then he proceed to try to find it in the book, so after five minutes of him reading everything about all the "maximum" bumper height laws and not finding anything about a minimum he told I was free to go! It's definitly worth fighting for!!
Florida law is the 24 inches to the center of the headlight, we don't have a scrub law, you can touch the ground all day on bumps in the road. Second, pans are not against the law, but you must have something connecting one side of the frame to the other in the rear of the vehicle.. Tell the officer that you have this and he/she can take a look if they want to get down on their knees and look under the bed. Police get very frustrated when you call them out on things, so you need to do it suttle, they will probably find something else to bother you about, but it won't be that.
Good luck.
Learn the laws, call the cops out on these things, don't let their heads swell anymore than they are...
GO FIND A DRUG DEALER OR A RAPEST, CHILD MALESTER!!!!!
YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR TIME????
and dont accidently hit the rear dump while there checking to see if ur frame is connected.

there is a scrub law.....vehicle striking the ground....i have had several friends with this ticket and statute # included however i am not sure on the #.....oh and be careful in daytona beach....they charge by the foot.....oh and it can also be classified as destruction of government property...my buddy got one of those a couple months ago...and last year my boy jake got his thrown out cuz the cop illegally confiscated his drag block...and claimed he had him draggin on video but for some reason didnt bring it to court
yea, theres definately a scrub law. ive heard of some ppl get it thrown out in court tho. they took pictures of the road where the next day of where they were cited and it showed no signs of being damaged. judge threw it out. i dunno if he got lucky or what.
any how, if i had a bar across the back i would have told him, but its one of the many things i have yet to have time to do.
im going to print out and make copies of FL statutes that pertain to this kind of stuff and give it to club members. thought it was a cool idea to help some brothas out. gonna be prepared next time...
I don't know about the ticket, but i live in gainesville and i know cops have nothing better to do here but issue traffic tickets and stuff like this
in indiana its licences plates have to be 12 inches off ground
