what i don't understand is why people have to be stubborn hard asses and act all tough and think they can just wait it out. Everybody will believe you when you say your property got destroyed. No reason why anybody should risk your familie's, friend's and your own life just so you can have a story to tell your grand kids. It's not worth it. If something like this happens and your on the coast or anywhere in harms way get the hell out when you can and don't try to stand up to a storm like that. You see from the video's what it did and what they are capable of. You think the storm is going to go easy or go around you just because you stand up to it? no...its common knowledge. All of those deaths for nothing...

They said all the phones/power/gas/pumps/ everything is shut the fuck down.. its only getting worse. My mom was showing me where she grew up. Right in the path of the eye.

Anyone in GA?

Onlything we had in Ga was some wind and alot of rain. We had like 7 or 8 comfirmed tornados. 2 of them caused a pretty good bit of damage. One actually hit a mile from my house. Me and my roomate (smalls from gauge magazine) rode up tha road and we looked over and seen tha sky swirling and then it just dropped outta tha sky. We were no more then 200 yards from it. 1st one i've ever seen in person. I was simply in awe

we had a tornado come by my house, tore some siding off our house, blew almost all the trees over, bout ripped our outside fans out of the celing, blew our posrch furniture all in the yard, was kinda cool lookin, but scary at the same time

It's really a surreal experience for me, my wife's grandmas and her aunts, uncles and cousins are all over there, they live in Hammond which is about 1/2 hour from N.O. and got hit pretty hard, and 1 of her cousins lives in Baton Rouge... We wanted to rent a passenger van and get out there and bring them here, but her grandmas dont want to go, they survived world wars, Her grandmas are both like 85 so they want to just hang in there, the main problem is that they have no power and theres only estimates that they will have power in a "few weeks". I guess we will give them a week and then like it or not, we're going out there and I'm bringing them back here. Her parents were off and on able to get through to them, and yesterday we finally got a phone line through and spoke to them, they are in really good spirits, and are just staying positive.... We went and visited them last year over Labor day weekend, and stayed out there for 10 days.. We went to New Orleans, went to Baton Rouge, went to Pearl River(it got hit hard also), and went to Biloxi & Gulf Port... It's sad to see all the beautiful places that gave me so many good memories in a short time... GONE!!! It will never be the same. Every where we went when we were out there, we were treated like family, there's nothing quite like southern hospitality, it was a wonderful experience, everyone was so genuinely nice and polite. And now they have to stick together and work through thi situation, and I have full confidence they will all come out okay and stronger than before...

Some of our family friends lived in New Orleans....they were on their way out of the town Sunday when my friends 80 year old grandmother passed out in the car so they stopped in a town just outside of New Orleans. We havent heard anything from them yet or from some relatives that stayed in New Orleans. But we think they left last minute and headed for Georgia

I posted this in the other thread about the huricane but I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a radio station KISS 95.1, in Charlotte N.C. that has put together a drive to raise money and supplies for all those people. if you go to their website you will se links to donate to the red cross, www.kiss951.com and www.acetj.com.
So far these guys have raised over 50,000 dollars and its growing by the minute adn its getting bigger and bigger. Me and my guys just left from helping them load trucks to carry supplies down there, so far its up to like 8 tractor trailor loads. I wanted to ask that if you you could to please help, if you've got a dolaar to spare, please give. these people are going to need every dime they can get to help these people get their life back on track

just got everything back up. i fared pretty well as did my town (about 15 minutes east of baton rouge) but the eastern part of my parish is under at least 5 feet of water. all the schools around me are being used as shelters. around mya rea that had 5 trees that went through houses. it was pretty bad. and now, i found out my school is closed 'indefinitely' so i have to transfer if i want to graduate before july. but my family's ok and friends too.
