thanks, and I'd like to mention shaving that bumper and molding the valance was a bitch, you couldnt just call FBI for one back then like you can now.
the 2 link has been on my xtra cab mazda for about 9 years and there have been no problems, my orange reg cab has a tci 4 link, I like both set ups, as for side to side i havnt cared about that since the early 90's when i had wires, 3 wheeled and hopped, i am old now so just getting a couple inches off the ground and driving is fine with me leave the fancy around the world and 3 wheelin to the 64's with 13x7 wires
yeah shit I stopped doing side 2 side about 2 weeks after I 1st got bagged

When I say side to side I dont neccesarily mean using the air bags. Even driving down the road when one rear wheel hits a bump or a pot hole the other wheel reacts the same way rather than having some sort of independent motion.

its true, anyone with a two link can tell you that pulling in a sloped driveway will pull the wheel off the ground.
here is an example I used before.
Lay two 2x4's on the ground parallel to each other about 4 feet apart. These are your two link bars. Lay another 2x4 across the ends of the two and nail it solid. This is your axle. Have two friends half stand on the other ends of the two 2x4 bars. Their shoes are the bushings.
Now lift the axle 2x4 from the center. It will come up and go down easily. Next, lift the axle 2x4 from one corner. OOPS! Both sides come up and down equally, you lift the one corner 12 inches and the other side comes up 12 inches. There is no articulation, one side going up makes the other side go up as well. Like if you went over a speed bump, both wheels would hop. Well, with a two link, you would only need to hit a bump with one wheel to make both sides come up.
Now, have a friend stand on one side of the axle 2x4 while you try to lift the other side. You will hear the nails in the axle 2x4 cracking and the friends acting as bushings will tell you the bars 2x4s are trying to twist out from under their feet.
I know people are going to do what they want. I'm not trying to change any ones opinion on two links. Its easier and cheaper. Mine was crap, and exposed all the shortcomings. If you've had one for years and years, you have my respect. But saying "I've never had a problem" is not a reasonable argument. I can use trash bags as condoms and not have a problem. Doesnt make it the best way. Only the cheapest, and easiest.
that makes cool burnouts, i fully know the short commings of a 2 link, I am just saying I have had no issues with it, i have 4 mini trucks one has a 4 link one a 3 link one 2 link and good ole leafs on the daily, i dont think 2 links are as horrible as alot of people think they are, when i did my 4 link it did not make me so excited that i wanted to change all my other trucks over to it, its just the ole saying opinions are like assholes, i dont like reverse 4 links but plenty of people run em with no problem, i do think that people driving for years and years on a 2 link without a problem is a reasonble argument when people are asking about getting one and want to know if they can work, isnt that basically what you want to know when thinking about doing it?

I had leafs on this one.
The only limitations it had was wheelhop on acceleration (mazda acceleration hahaha) and the u joints would clack rolling really low at highway speed.
Like I said, not trying to change anyones opinions. A properly installed 2 link is worlds better than a hacked 4 link. My friend Ryan had some hack put on his four link and it looked like two pair of scissors!
heres some pics of how i do mazdas with a 3 links w/ 12 inches of travel w/shocks +- 1 degree of pinion angle change and less than an 1/2 of driveshaft movement like russ-d says anything done RIGHT will work 2links have to be long to get the advantages out of them
that shits sweet sadistic
SOMEONE GET ME A HAMBURGER BUN FOR ALL THAT BEEF
Looks super strong!
