my bad luck story is all legal... i was in a truck club, Vertically Challenged, and the pres of our chapter told me he had a 85 s10 for sale... 500 bucks. I was like i'll take it. so he brought the truck up, my dad and I checked it out and decided we'd give 400 for it. the wheels weren't matching, interior was shitty, rear end rode WAY too high, wiring was messed up... anyways, we sat up there for like 2 saturdays in a row all day, tryin to get a title. mind you, the truck is about 100 miles from home at the time. then we went to pay with a check, he said it'd have to be cash. we went and got the cash, paid for it, and drove it home. so about 3 weeks went by and i went to go get tags... the title was messed up, so it had to get sent back to the original owner. DANG IT!! now 2 weeks have gone by, and i STILL don't have a title or tags on it.
