Elbine has the best idea or build from the front section of your notch back. You can either spend more money for the driveshaft or just cut and fix now before you install your link system. Or you can do a full frame rail back and not have to worry about all that. That is what I did on my mazda.

im thinking about just doing the drive shaft.... im not to worried about the tires sitting to far forward in the wheel well because i can just move the wheel well easy enough.... when I do all the body work to it.. pain in the ass but not to hard for me.... the way i welded in the notch if i were to cut it out, the notch would probably get destroyed. and i really don't want to do a custom mid frame cuz I still would have to cut out the front part of the notch. either way ALOT of work. for the 200$ i think buying a custom built shaft would be the easiest way. I'm going to keep playing with the shaft, and see if i'm just over looking something, but I'm pretty should I screwed the pooch on this one

cut the notch and make it wider? that way you keep the custom back half (if its already done) and don't have to cut into the front of the frame? definatly move or modify the notch before the drive shaft.

tell you what i would rather cut the notch out and redo it as opposed to adding MORE work by making new drive shaft and cutting the shit out of your box to make it look right. the easiest and simplest and least time consuming way to fix it would be to redo the notches.

cutting and moving the wells is going to be alot more work then just redoing the notch or frame. if you didn't want to cut the notch you could cut the frame a few inches before the notch and lengthen the frame how ever much you need it to be.

yeah the more i think about it it probably would be... I might do what sadistic suggested and do a step notch instead of the traditional notch, then i could just move my upper brackets backwards to align everything up... I'm going to really spend some time on it this weekend and figure out exactly what I need to do... I'm just aggravated with myself for screwing up....
