But if you cannot get enough belt tension with the stock bracket then you will need to make a new bracket/mount..

so with a true 1 wire alt the 1 wire will go directly to the positive side of the battery correct? or is there more wires that have to be connected?

Generally - no. Your stock ALT gauge (idiot light) will not work as there is no signal wire from the alternator. The 1-Wire alternator is grounded thru the housing to the motor. Best to verify / make a good connection from te engine block to the frame (motor mounts are rubber insulated). Also note: for most 1 wire applications ot "start working" the engine RPM must get above 2,000 RPM before the alternator starts working (self exciting the call it). Once the alternator starts working it will work at any RPM.

I'm running a rx7 alternator.Its for a FC style rx7.Uses factory style electrical connections for a straight swap.Not sure on the brackets tho.I think they are the same as my rotary runs.

ok so the blue will be for positive straight to battery? and the red is??? also what model number is that alt?
