2WD vs. 4WD Front Bumper Ends

I just bought a '91 B2600 4x4. It had a smashed bumper, so I need to replace the bumper and one lost bumper end (or maybe both). All of the bumper ends I find say they're for a 2WD, but they look almost identical to the one good one I have. Is there really a difference between the 2WD and 4WD bumper ends?

Yah there different. The 4wd bumper ends are flared more to match up with the flare on the fenders.

Ah, I was thinking they may be "taller" due to the higher ride height.

Anyone know where to find some 4x4 bumper ends? I've been searching Google for a few weeks with no luck. There are tons of 2WD ends, though.

they dont make aftermarket ones. your choices are either salvage yards or mazda dealership. i check the dealer a few months ago and they are like $80-ish apiece. try you can select what part you want and where you live and it will give you salvage yards in your area that have that part.

Yeah, I've been all over car-part, too. There aren't many listed and most of the ones returned in the search look to be afteramarket bumpers or something. There is one complete bumper assembly that is close. I'm going to call about it tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder about car-part. This particular bumper wasn't there the last time I checked.

2wd are flat and boring:

Notice how they do not match the bottom edge of the flared fender.

4wd. Notice how they flare out and match the fender.

You can only find 4wd parts used, nobody makes new aftermarket parts.

That's exactly what I needed to see. Thanks.

I called the place I found on Car-Part today. They went and checked on the bumper and said it was full of rust and had holes in it. The search continues...

I found one in L.A., but they want $120 to ship it. That seems a little steep considering the place in WI said they would ship it for $30. That would make this bumper $240. Seems a little steep for a 30 year old bumper.

Maybe you could look into the fiberglass one piece bumper that mikey has on his truck if you cant find any stock ones.

you dont need the bumper, just the plastic ends. You can get a bumper for like $30 locally. Look on egay or something for the bumper caps.
