I have both my roadster is shaved. Since there is no roof so I dont need poppers and my other mazda has door handles again.
im doing pass side shave only
I think its just too easy to shave them off, id rather search around and find something that looks good and take the time to do it. On one truck i built we put doorhandles on it and theyre not even functional, just figured it would be easier to grab a handle than the corner of the door.
Handles are definately stayin on. I think the truck needs a splash of chrome to go with the front anyway. And the door locks are gone. I even wanna get a remote engine starter. Completely do away with keys.
Mr. B22 I wish I lived in Ontario. In Aus the cops are fully in their right to hold you for the full time it takes to search your car. And they can pull you over for the most bullshit reasons. Smoke from exhaust; suspected ball tyres; noise complaint!?!; and they can set up road blocks and pull over every car they want.
cheers everyone for all your advice.
i love not having door handles, i never have to remember to lock my door! plus i like popping them open when people walk by
i like handles,as long as they're chrome,or a unique design.
However, shaved looks good on almost any application. personally, shaving handles is not a mod i would really do on my own vehicles..its more one of those things I'd do when I look at the truck and go "ok,what else ca I do now? I'm bored."
doorhandles are SO overrated besides there are ways to open doors in the event of solenoid failure. Go find the old and I mean old hot rod guys and ask them how they got in before the days of electric pops.
I think really the biggest issue with solenoids is setup take your time and figure out the best way to get leverage without over working the solenoid. I have had a few daily's shaved and never had a problem
Let me know if you want some chrome handles, I can get you a set for a good price.
