I am new to mazda b scene. I am needing some help. i have plans on swaping a 3.0 v6 and automatic from a 92 ford aerostar. i have all the electrical done. the only problem i have is getting the driveshafts to match up. i want to use the factory mazda shaft. the only thing is that it wont slide onto the splines of the ford automatic. i have disasembled the front part of the aerostar driveshaft that works with the automatic. what do i need to do to make the 2 pieces match up? please help.

When I put a Chevy 350 in mine, I had to cut the yoke out of the Chevy shaft and weld it into the Mazda drive shaft tube.
They weren't the same diameter, so I had to get the yoke turned down to match the tube.

thats wat a buddy of mine said the only problem is getting a yoke to weld to the mazda driveshaft. the only other thing ive got to figure out is how to hook the factory mazda tach to the ford ignition system

i cant use the aerostar driveshaft because its aluminum but the joint and splines are all steel.

What about a Ford Ranger? They used that same engine, perhaps the driveshaft isn't aluminium

Thats a good idea but will it work with the square style ford ignition coil?
