My dad kinda accidentally purchased this thing a year and a half back or so. Been thinking about stealing it from him and throwing a crew cab cab on it, some nice polished tanks, stacks, bumpers and 24.5's. I don't know how much I could lower it but I would like to do that also. Can anyone tell me where to start looking for a dropped axle for it? Here be the pics, and maybe it aint even worth messin with, but thought it would be a badass tow rig. It's got an 8.2 turbo'd diesel in it.

Sumbitch that thing has a crazy long wheelbase...I'd say it used to be a box truck but the axle looks set too far back? Maybe modified afterwards?
Do they even make drop axles for stuff that big? My first thought would be, if the springs are next to the frame, fab drop hangers front and rear to keep your caster in check. If instead, they're in line with the frame like on my 3500HD, that rules out much drop with that route due to closing the gap between spring and frame.
Cool rig and you'd be the only dude around sportin' one!

Ya I'm not sure what the story is with the wheelbase, I wonder if it didn't have tandem axles at one time. They make drop axles for the big rigs I though, so I should be able to find something that would work.

Most the big rigs switch to Car Hauler front suspension to drop the fronts and or also there is a block on top the spring pack they remove that drops them a couple inches.

I remember seeing how chase did that and had that planned. I could swear I see a reference to a dropped front axle for the big trucks. Probably not though I guess.

That would be bad ass w/ a crewcab on it, then get a squarebody dually bed and graft on a squarebody long bed on to the front of the dually bed and have like a 10 or 12ft long dually bed or however long it would be.
