But do you think if the rim wasn't screwed up before there would be any possible way to separate the hoop when mounting a tire?

Just from my personal experience with milled 22"s and Alan (doordrgr) can verify because he was there. I sideswipped a concrete barrier going through road construction in TowNasty one time. It was a hard lick and kicked the whole truck sideways in the interstate and it bent the wheel enough to leak the air out of the tire. I took a sledge hammer to it and bent it back til the bead would seat again. The wheel was still on the truck when I sold it. If they will take a hit like that without busting the lip, thats good enough for me. A regular 20" or so wheel would have folded like a bad poker hand without being able to be repaired.
And another side note......I did the paint work on the truck thats on the cover of that issue. Werd!
