Well the drive line wasnt done...some excuse that the boss had to leave early..

Anyways. It doesnt show any leakage from anywhere. Im kinda picky about that shit.

Just the same I pulled the diff cover, looked over the gears, (no wear that my untrained eye could see). The fluid was pretty clean compared to most diffs ive drained.

So hopefully she wont hum when I get it back toghether.

who knows....

BTw...If I floor it at 50, I can still hear the humming. Thanks for all the input...I really appreciate it.

if you dont have any slack, and it still hums when you floor it at 50, it may be the carrier input shaft bearing. i wish i could drive it, it is hard to diagnose this shit by computer. i just dont think it will be joint or swing bearing noise. i think it will be in the diff. some where. good luck, brian

The ujoints and new center bearing are in....still hums. Better now though. Starts making noise about 70 at 80 its real apparent. I checked the angles...

about 5 degrees at the transmission, 5 degrees at the yoke after the center bearing (estimate) and 10 degrees at the yoke on the rear. So Lowboy has offered up to make some adjustable upper bars for me. Hope that will do the trick.

So we changed the pinion angle. The thing was pointing 10 degrees up. Moved it to 2 down. Doesnt make a noise till 75. However messing with it caused all sorts of weird stuff.

Keep in mind this is a bolt in 4 link, notch and pan hard. Its big and beefy, but has no adjustability. Lowboy fabbed up some longer bottom bars in a jiff, we bolted it back together and ran it. Big difference.

That night I noticed it wasnt lowering all the way on the drivers side. After Looking at it for an hour I with no idea, I took it to lowboy and he saw right off what was up.

When we angled the pinion down, it pushed the shock mount on the axle up...so now the collapsed shock was holding up the rear of the truck. Unbolt and go, worked great.

Then I noticed gear oil all over, but not from diff covers, axle or pinion seal areas...

Started spuing from the diff vent...a bunch...crazy fnn truck

All this day did is make we want it lower...with no more fnn hassle.
