I am not really a minitrucker any more (sold my ranger) but I think this forum will help alot of you in your customizing quest. I have been building trucks dating back to days before streetsourcemag. I know alot of what we do is self explanatory, but i think a topic on some sneaky tricks is a good idea.I will start with a trick I use while doing sheetmetal work. If I am welding two peices of sheetmetal together and there is a small gap between the two peices, I take a steel coathanger and cut peices to lay in the gaps. Then I weld on either side of the hanger in tacks till its solid. Saves you wire, and allows "shooting the gap" without burning through or making too much heat. Hope this helps someone. PS. use a magnet to see if the hanger is steel.
thanks for the info, you should post more of these little tricks some of them could help us get our vehicles finished a little sooner.
WE SHOULD WRITE A BOOK WITH ALL THE LITTLE TRICK THAT WE HAVE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS OR THE MISTAKES WE HAVE MADE
This is a great thread, I will think of some things that I use and share later.
Being that i have limited knowledge of air suspension and welding and bodywork etc. I personally think this will be a great thread as long as people are willing to share there secrets to doing a particular job! Thanks fellas. Great idea!
when my buddy was runnin his shop we were gonna make a book called 1001 uses of a 2x4 cuz we managed using a 2x4 for alot of shit
^^^ Ha ha i remember that. I always have one on hand
