I'd also suggest doing the pearl white like the guys said. Keep track of how many coats, (air pressure, and how wide your fan was if you want to get real technical!), and what you used as a base. Friggin hard to match/blend that shit, write it down and store it somewhere safe.
Also keep some extra base and pearl white...just in case.
Oh ya, a while back my buddy wanted to marbilize his 88 caddy, just the top half (still too much imo, but he's way out there and wanted it).
The whole car was already painted black in base clear. So we sanded down the black and shot over it with a crazy coarse flaked silver. We sprayed the whole top side once so it was nice and evenly covered waited a bit, then blasted a quick wet coat over the whole top side using slow reducer. Then we threw one of those overspray protection sheets over the whole top, let it sit in the paint and pulled it up quick. Then we shot over the silver with some HOK Cobalt blue Kandy.
It looked pretty good, and the Kandy gave it great debth. Again not my thing, but i've always wanted to do it, to see if it would work, and he bought the paint, so why not?
We had a couple spots we fixed to look right before the Kandy, but all in all not bad...if you like that kinda thing.
