With a Graphic Design degree you could do anything from website design to commercial design.

If you like drafting that is just one of the many things you learn if you persue a degree in engineering.

You should look up industrial design, I bet you would like it. You could design tools, lamps, packaging etc...

College is the way to go!

if your smart, you'll make a shit load in drafting(engineering) your in the northwest, so i guess you could do what we hicks do and log and fightfire, and buddy drives a semi lowboy, and makes around 1200 a week after taxes. But if your too puurrrdy to do an outdoor job. graphic design would be cool.

the only thing i wonder about, is if you got a job fabricateing, or mini truck inspired. after working all day you woulden't want to come home and do the same thing.?

if you're interested in an engineer aspect of drafting you could look into mechanical engineering as well.

working with not only the development software like solidworks and inventor to do 3-d modeling...

It will pay a fuck of a lot more than most webdesign... and with webdesign you get into a lot of programming and CSS/Ajax/Java/HTML/PHP stuff, unless of course you're interested...

i do architectural drafting for an architect in ky right now. prior to this i was working for another architect in CA. its fun cause you get to see these buildings you put hours into drawing up get built but sitting at a desk all day drawing, starts to get tedious. and 'draftsman' dont make a shit load of money. architects, engineers do, but before you decide you want to be one of those remember in ca. you have to work under one for 7 years and have a bachelors degree before you can even start taking your tests to become a licensed engineer or architect. in cali the pay rate for a 'good' draftsman is like $15-$20 depending on the architect and the area. ky its like $8-$10. also, if you want to get into drafting, learn the Auto-cad software. at least the 2005 version. all versions operate basically the same way but in 2005 some things work a little differently but if you never used like 2002 you wouldnt notice. sketch up is another program that deals with 3-d modeling which is pretty cool. dont even bother learning data-cad, its slow and outdated. autocad is the way to go. oh and my personal preffereance is that the 'architectural desktop' program sucks at every aspect. so i stick with just plain ol autocad.
