to the cat who thinks he's installed enough 3/5 links to figure out all the flaws:

maybe you didn't think about an easy solution to keep from shortening the driveshaft. slide the gas tank x-member back 1/2" and move the spring perches back 1/2" extra.

this moves the axle back an extra 1/2" and will keep from shovin the shaft into the transmission or carrier bearing. I've done this on 2 regular cab s10's with 5 links I installed. No shortening of the shaft.

the 5link is a good kit. Rode in an s-series equipped truck, nice ride, nice lift. it's obviously beefy. No I dont have one on my truck. I do have the cups and carrier bearing x-member, and tubs/notch cover. I wont even touch the rest of the bullshit and bickering in this thread.

HARRYBALLS let me ask you a question. IF you drive a car why are you even talking sh*t in a thread about a 5 link suspension??? You gonna put one on your Celica or what ever it is that you drive? LOL! Sounds to me like you're just looking for trouble?

They've obviously built a succesful company with good products.Their bars are beefy and the welds are good on everything.I bought a hinge set and a bunch of sheetmetal and couldnt be happier.Theres always gonna be a crowd of kids that dont want to weld and the bolt on stuff is a good idea for them.If its a safe system then good for sd.Ive always looked at bolt on link systems with a scowl on my face though-I like custom handbuilt stuff and there will never be a comparison. The guy who built the truck himself will always have that to brag about

it crazy how just a simple question about a 5 link set up ends up to a buch of shit talking. my friend got the 5 link set up for his s-10, and he likes and i think it a tight ass set up! so many people talk shit about bolt on stuff but what is the differnce is bolting on differnt set of wheels and then bolting on a 5 link set up?

In my opinion suicide doors was the best thing to happen to minitruckin in a long time they build high quality parts, stand behind their work, and have great customer service. There is nothing wrong with bolt on parts saves time energy and weld spatter burns. As long as the bolt on a built right what does it matter that they blot on. As for the 5 link it is very nice. As is most of their products.
