is it losing popularity
i agree with it all i know here in the midwest it is still relatively small compared to other spots on the map and just in my home town we have alot of people that are startin to try the scene out for the simple reason of they think it is the cool thing to do and i don't really like that motive i mean i started cause i went to a couple shows i loved working on trucks and thats what got me started the friends i made and the shows that i go to it is all worth it and i will always be in the scene but all the punk ass kids that are tearin shit up and being disrespectful is bull shit i love drinkin and partyin just as much as the next guy but you have to draw the line somewhere
damn this forum got big quick
To say that the younger guys are ruining the scene isn't so right... I would say SOME of the younger newbies might be doing stuff that is bringing the scene down... there are some younger guys that have respect and know whats what... everyone's gotta start somewhere right.
The scene is definatly growing... DVD's, Clothes, and all kinds of stuff are now being sold and are being viewed by tons of people. LIke was said before... people see this stuff and think its cool and jump into the scene but don't know how to act.
I havn't been in the scene for as long as some people, i've only been in the scene for about 5 years.... but before i actually bought my first truck I was buying MT mags, tailgate mags, and checkin out club and coverage sites all the time.
Those that respect the hobby/lifestyle, whatever you want to call it will be around for a while... those that are just punk ass idiots will move on and find something different.
All anyone can do I guess is lead by example... your actions will have an effect on the newbies in the scene.... and hopefully one for the better.
oh i thought we built minis to be cool anyway! lol j/k. i agree minitruckin isnt popular at all where i live there is maybe a total of 6 running around. but i do see it growing and its more half ass trucks now opposed to 5 years ago. but the clowns will die off i dont think the scene is going anywhere.

I got into Mini Truckin because years ago it really was underground, and not many people where I lived had bagged Mini Trucks. I saw it as kinda the new age of Hot rodders like my father and Uncles were before me...But now people are really starting to see how cool bagged trucks are, and it's attracting the wrong crowd of people. Not only that but there runing the S-10 period... I for one hate that shit it makes it that much harder for guys like me to drive an s-10...I try not to snap when I hear someone say "Oh just another S-10" I fucking hate that shit! You hear me?And you cant really single out companies and blame them, yes they do play a part in it too, but those sites are helpful to "real" Minitruckers as well! So to anwser the God Damn question Mini Truckin is now the most popular I've ever seen it!
~OH and being young has nothing to do with it! Its peoples attitudes like the ones who think because they have more money to do shit to there trucks that there better than the average Joe who cant afford to have there shit done up all nicely (wether it be paint, fabrication, etc.). That is the attitude thats fucking the "scene" up!! My 2 cents....
I think the scene has its "visitors" who are trying to find out who they are. And if you are a true minitrucker you return to it...because..you cant just stop being a minitrucker. You establish a real bond with all you meet who enjoy it like you do. Its true...we do party pretty hardcore...but if you stop and look at all of us theres lawyers..doctors..policemen..mechanics...broke asses and rich mofos. Will it die?....fuck no...as long as theres some old trucks laying around or new ones being made theres gonna be some dillusional guy with a pot of coffee and a grinder and a sawzall standing around late at night in some shop grinning because he knows his shits gonna be getting him looks from the beeotches when that metal hits the pavement after he dumps that bitch at a gas station to run in and get some yoohoo and a slim jim. Im not dead yet and from what i can see im not stoppin any time soon.
i have only been around for a couple years 3 at the most and i have seen an increase in the dumbass area also. i mean this year we had a dumbass tear up a memorial and last year that kid was mouthin off to everyone and damn near started a riot @ the redlion i mean i know im young but i dont act retarded so why do all the punk asses even get welcomed in to this thing we call a lifestyle
its cuz the honda thing isnt the "cool" thing anymore w/ the young kids so they gota find sumthin else to fuck up. also if you dont have enough commen sense and control of your self when your out of your own house, then stay the fuck away from mini truck shows and go hang w/ the jdm nopi fags. im sure theyll act just the same as you.

I agree with this. I am one of the younger guys in the scene. But I think I have a good head on my shoulders. I do realize it is the younger guys that are doing stupid shit makes the scene less enjoyable for others. But its not all of us fucking it up.
The good thing about us compared to the honda scene is that we will endure this and will come out stronger, no one can kill us off.
