UTI, Wyotech, Lincoln Tech, NADC, these are the only Tech schools I even heard of and have heard the good and bad, they all seem to be equal from what I have heard.. I go to Lincoln Tech right now and it does suck for what I paid absolutely. But while im there i try to take in everything i learn and review it. Be motivated for teaching yourself more as you go along in tech school, every day read up on what you learned, learn more about it, review it. Don't expect a top job in your field at all whatsoever, you will have to prove yourself to your employer to show what you can do, and in time hopefully you will be where you want to be.
ALL Tech schools are businesses so they dont care too much about what you gain from them. the people you talk to, to register there are basically like car salesmen theyll lie to u and everything, as long as theyve got your money. But just work hard, keep your attendance and grades up and it will pay off tenfold in money and knowledge.

I went to a local tech college and got the basic knowledge of body work and paint, then I was very lucky and got in with a very experienced streetrod builder who taught me more then any school could ever teach. Like the other people say, your just paying for the name, because there is only so much you can learn in a school the rest comes from actual experience. check out this site to see some of my work www.evolution-auto.com

I may have not went to a big tech school, but I went to a local community college graduated from welding. I thought it was awesome, I learned tons and I am a helluva welder now. I went in knowing nothing and came out certified to AWS (American Welding Society) d17.1 (Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications) Basically 4130 chromoloy tubing with the GTAW process. I will throw my welding knowledge and skill up against about anyone(some call it cocky I say confidence). I liked school so much I am back for tool and die. so i think school is defiantly worth it.

It doesnt matter how hard you try, if you arent getting taught the correct way of doing things like you have to do them in a real shop you still wont know shit. I learned more in one week at a real shop than I did the entire 2 years I went to tech school. I havent even taken my 4 diplomas out of the envelope they came in the mail in. Waste..

And how are you learning the incorrect ways, when you're being taught by a bodyman or painter who has more than 30 years exp. and is constantly updating their training??
