The guys name was Pat Nichols and the truck was called Ballistic. That was one of the trucks that got me into it, I still have that issue of the mag too. My cousin had a little 81 datsun regular cab that was dumped on turbine rims that I thought was the coolest thing ever. I was 14 years old when my parents bought it off of my cousin and gave it to me for christmas and I've been hooked ever since.

Ive always been in to cars and trucks but thanks for friends I got outa the import ricer scene and got my mazda when my friend said you should get an extra cab mazda well 2 weeks later my Grandma found one a red 91 mazda 26001 cab plus super clean no rust or dents a month later it was dropped on its nutz that was in 2002 now its re bagged and got a super short 4 by bed on it I love this scene a whole lot better than "dude you wanna race" that shit is old is more fun than going as fast as you can.

So to make it short Friends helped me see the light and helped me take the step in to minitrucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in '95. There was this minitruck club here in San Antonio. Bunch of cool dewds with bad ass minis. I wanted to be a part of it so I BEGGED my pops for a mini that was finished and for sale locally. He said I earned it with grades and football and stuff so he got it for me. I started hangin' out and the REST IS HISTORY!!!! I attended Texas Heat Wave 96 and was hooooooooked! At the time my Nissan had molded ground effects, molded texas tail and a white rag top with white and burgandy interior. and 15x7 DAYTONS! LOL! A week after Heat Wave my truck had cranked torsions and blocks, no ground effects or a rag top, the Daytons were gone and replaced with chrome 4 runner rims and I had a snug top and a walk through. I'll always remember those guys. They corrupted the shit out of me! I still hang out with a few of them. Good times!

I was in the navy in 1989 and a guy named Dave from California with a toyota on cookie cutters showed me my first minitruckin. I had no idea what cookie cutters were, but the trucks in the magazine were hot. When I moved to wichita a couple months later I met a guy named Butch who had a Courier with cut springs. The frame looked like a train wreck from banging around town and it rode like a buckboard but with drip tint and neon wipers, damn we were cool.

back in high school i was into prerunners and older imports like vws, datsuns, etc...

then a friend of friend had an orange bodydropped nissan kingcab hardbody on 17" niche bellas. full tweed interior. the truck was sick and ahead of its time. this was in 97 or 98. that's when i really got into minitrucks.

I'm new this year. I worked in a shop at the age of 14, and down the street a few guys rented a building to build trucks. Got to know them, and thats when I was hooked. Went from 4x4 ands hot rods to this. So some day I'll finish my oldschool 54' mini style.

when i was a sophmore in high school, there was a senior with a 84 or 85 yota. it was white with chester cheetah comming out of the hood and tailgate. it was fuc'n low. one day he got stuck on a speed bump at school and it took a few of use to push him off the bump. that's all it took for me.
