just a dumb question but why would the dealership insure something that they don't own once you sign a bill of sale your on your own and if it's a lease then the leaseing company i think has the right to decide what to do with it. but the main thing your buddy is okay meat

A lot of banks/credit unions will put insurance on it themselves if yours lapses and charge it back to you at a higher rate. The leinholders are informed by the insurance company in the event you let your insurance lapse. He may want to look into that...but then again that will kinda let them know he scratched the paint and it definately wont buff out

If you purchase a vehicle from a dealership, you must have proof of insurance to purchase a vehicle, this means, if the dealership does not call YOUR ins. company to transfer your policy from your old vehicle to your new, (As a COURTESY; it's YOUR responsibility) it is (Once again) YOUR responsibility to make sure your new vehicle is covered.. Therefore, your friend or whoever told your friend he was covered by the dealership, was full of shit. If the dealership sold him this truck without valid proof of ins. I'd try to take it up with them. If not, and your buddy lied, that's fraud.

hmmm who cares if he did or did not have insurance. the whole thing here is he wants to part a vehicle that is NOT his. there is a lien on it. therefore that is SUPER illegal, and a huge fraud, and your not helping your friend by advertising it to thousands of peoeple. i wonder if his lien holder is on SSM... might be callin your buddy right now..

True dat...i wouldnt have suggested parting it out if i had known it wasnt paid for.
