I use DOT PTC fittings from the Parker store in town some what expensive but worth it all brass with a brass ferral in the middle just like a compression fitting works out great.
hehehe spoiled we west MI peeps are
I got lucky there is a parker store 2 minutes from my work. I have well over $100 worth of fittings from them so far. I got the prestolocs even though they aren't dot fittings the guy said they sell alot to truckers because they cost less. He told me that if I run the little tube inserts like the dot ones have they will work just as good. Whenever I finish my setup I'll see how good they really work.

^^^ then what of all the people running around with aftermarket control arms, they are not DOT approved, does that mean that they should throw there stockers back on.
I see the argument both ways but just because something doesnt have the DOT appoval doesnt make it garbage. I have used both the compression fittings from home depot and parkers, had the same luck with both.
hey, next time you goto home depot ask them where their air fittings are. the fittings you buy are plumbing fittings, not used to "plumb" air suspension.
i would also like to add that even tho aftermarket arms are not dot approved there built to DOT spec or above, HD fittings arent even close to DOT spec.

and just how do you know what specs they are built to. just cuz you say they aren't? have you read the manufacturer's specs on the parts? probably not..
if any of you decide stop plumbing your truck like its a bathroom, call mike @ gravity-werx.com and ask him, he worked for parker-hannafin for a couple years, hes an expert in industrial pneumatic and air suspension parts. he'll set you straight in you fitting choices.
