^^^^^probably right, but my articulation with a parallel 4-link is not bad. However, I rarely hit sides.

I think ultimately the triangulated can articulate more, but realistically they have the same usable range.

ahh okay. i didn't think about using heim joints. the only thing that came to mind was the poly bushings.

this depends on how they are mounted and made.

1. if the triangulated has the bushings installed in the traditional way (angled) it has far less useable articulation because as soon as it moves 1 inch up or down the bushings are binding and pulling against each other.

2. if the triangulated has the inline bushings the same as a parallel but with a V or Y shaped upper bar the articulation is the same.

3. the Watts linkage doesnt affect the articulation at all unless you have some very short bars on the 4 link or the watts link, and/or the watts link has bushings instead of heims.

4. a parallel 4 link with a watts link is the best suspension setup for bags geometrically speaking.

5. a triangulated 4 link with the upper bushings inline works great but has one disadvantage, it puts all the side to side load on the upper bushings. the bushings are not designed to have all that side load or to be twisted. therefore the bushings will fail prematurely.

OFF TOPIC BUT:
With that kind of link set up with the rear lift bars, could you put the dog bone end up on the frame and the other end mounted to the axle with a bushing?
Just reversed from how it is done in the pics above?

still work the same? I figure either way the bag will just lean one direction or another. I guess the bag could move back and forth a little bit anyway through susp travel.
