I'm wanting to buy one soon, and see some good prices on ebay and other sites I found on google.. but just wondering if any of you know certain specs or anything to look for when buying one to make sure itll be good quality. Let me know where you all got yours, thanks!

get a pipe masters (tubing contour measuring tool) mark the line around the tubing, cut off the end with a plazma cutterand then use a cone grinder attachment to finish it off

the one in the above pic is a piece of crap. the part that holds the tube is thin and will bend over time. I use a notcher every day and went thru one of those very quickly.

I got the speedy notcher from speedway motors. its only 100 bucks and worth every penny.

Hey Mike do you think it would work if I rarely use it compared to how much you use tube?

You might want to check Harbor Freight Tools. I think I've seen them there before and their stuff is fairly inexpensive.

Tubing notchers are only good for certain angles. the best way to fit tubing is to use a pipemaster. Tubing notchers are just for the cutting part of the job. a plasma cutter is the fastest way to cut the tubing. unless you have a $2500 power speed notcher. I like to finish off the cut pipe with cone grinders. But hey, 6 eggs or a half dozen of the other.
