longitudinally??? That would be horizontal, dont you mean cut it vertically?

Nope, when talking about engines, longitudinal is perpendicular to the front wheels, transverse is parallel with the front wheels.

A transverse engine is mounted sideways, FWD. An engine mounted longitudinally is mounted N-S, RWD.

So when you cut something longitudinally, you cut it vertically from top to bottom along the long axis of the motor. Just saying "vertical" would not give the orientation of the cut, especially if you were looking from the side.

man I hate how I sound on the internet, I mmust come off as a real jerk. At least thats what I got after a second read. Believe me krazeryn, I know you know what you are talking about and are a mazda head too. I love your truck, its one of my favorites on here. I dont mean to sound like a know it all, I am just very direct and that comes off creepy sometimes. Sorry bout that, when we run into each other at a show I'll give out some sweaty reverse bear hugs and buy the Corona.

Man that truck is so sweet. I love the modded Prowler 20's. You and Rudy and NCBIGG with the 20's, you guys blow my mind.

I'm fucking obsessed with your truck Sean (drools profusely)

And if we're talking about how far our trucks are bd'd with a stock hood, I'll throw in that mine is about 1/2" into the door with a stock hood, stock motor, stock carb. He he he...
