Im running the 2600 hood. so the bubble makes it work and fit.

well since you don't really want a cowl i won't show you "steeples" new cowl.
it's not that ugly ass one pictured in the link with the cheesy ass louvers.
no sense in getting one if you don't need it.
I would rather have a cowl hood, because either way, I have to buy a new hood. Lets see this new "steeples" hood
here ya go , you can also check my profile.
Geeze you could house a family of four in that cowl!

It takes a couple hours to drop the motor, you just support the engine with a jack, pull the mounts off, cut them longitudinally (so that you have a frame half and a motor half), slide the frame half UP a half inch and weld them together. You have to unbolt the lower crossmember under the pan and clearance it for the oil pan, but thats easy too. Dont go more than about 3/4 inch or you will run into the center steering link.
Or you can have your best buddy surprise you with some custom made dropped motor mounts like Wayne did for me, I still owe him a nuts windmill for that nice deed.
longitudinally??? That would be horizontal, dont you mean cut it vertically?

Nope, when talking about engines, longitudinal is perpendicular to the front wheels, transverse is parallel with the front wheels.
A transverse engine is mounted sideways, FWD. An engine mounted longitudinally is mounted N-S, RWD.
So when you cut something longitudinally, you cut it vertically from top to bottom along the long axis of the motor. Just saying "vertical" would not give the orientation of the cut, especially if you were looking from the side.
