I'm actually leaning to what Brandon is talking about here, looking around for a dropped beam for the front. But a previous owner somewhere down the road screwed the rear frame section up and it needs to be redone. So its gonna be a redesigned rear end with probably coilovers and we're gonna end up switching to a disc/drum brake to stop the Chevy 350.

Stand back and focus on the metal you're working with, look at the shapes, look at the "perceived" weight of vehicle. If you try to put bags on that particular vehicle it's going to look forced...it won't flow. I'm not trying to be preachy, I'll be the first to tell you that a bagged '56 Chevy or '37 Ford looks great, but it just won't work as well with your ride. Good luck...whatever your decision.

Yeah just slam it on coilovers in the rear. We are finishing one up right now and are running a parallel P&J 4 link in the rear with the dropped axle in the front. Air will not look right on the front of thar car and you can ride almost as low static. Good luck!!

The bottom line on using air on a traditional rod is simple. If you can keep the look, and feel of the car tradional with air, go for it. Nobody wants to see a fenderless rod with an independent front end though. And nobody wants to see one with a straight axle but having the bags exposed either.
I am building a 29' Model A Sedan, and its bagged front and rear. The front suspension still runs 100% traditional parts-dropped I-beam axle, split wishbones up front, ect. Still looks traditional too, except mine will lay frame.
Can it be done, absolutely, like anything else. The challenge is pulling it off so that even a diehard traditional dude can't say sh*t to you because you pulled it off. When I told hardcore traditional builders what I was doing, they told me it couldn't be done and keep a traditional inspiration. I've shown the same people the car now thats its nearly done, and have gotten their respect and acceptance on the car. Bottom line, if you want it bagged, do it and do it well. There will always be people that will say it can't be done. Thats just cuz THEY can't do it
